How about the 300 Blackout?
I can't bring myself to own something I could accidentally chamber in my 5.56 rifle and blow myself up with...I'm not that dumb, nor am I that absentminded, but I just don't even want the chance...

You can't chamber 300 BLK in a 5.56 barrel. You can chamber 5.56 in a .300BLK barrel.

Hmmm. You may be correct; and I'm not going to try to prove you wrong.
However, my gunsmith has a barrel cut in half lengthwise showing a 30 cal. bullet extruded and stopped half way down a .223 hole. His story is that the previous owner shot a 300blk down it by making the mistake I mentioned.
I'm taking the story at face value, but you have given me some cud to chew on.

Anything old….less than 30deg shoulder angle, excessive taper, bullets pushed in to accommodate existing actions, slow twists

Anything amazing….that is with uncommon parent, too short to feed, 80ksi pressures, sub 1500 barrel life, limited bullet selection, no Lapua/adg/peterson/alpha brass….more than 20ft lbs of recoil fo non-dangerous game

It lies at the other end of the spectrum from LRH but when it comes to ESRH, the 22 LR is the cartridge to love.

And here's the part that may drive some here crazy. The 22 LR really shines the brightest when powered down to Subsonic! And not just for target shooting, it becomes an even more effective small game cartridge with Subsonic HPs.

Without a doubt, one of the most successful and influential cartridges in all of history. Every land animal on earth has been killed with the 22 LR.

I do own ones that wear belts
