I got my one them for a while now and would like to support another made in Montana product. I already have an Eliteiron and a Rex Silentium MG10 Ultra on my upcoming .338 NM/I build would be an excellent addition.

Silencerco Harvester Evo, specs look great for a hunting can, especially for 599. Plus im getting a free warlock to boot. Ill let you know how it is in about a year... actually they are saying 90 days with the new efile system, ill believe it when i see it.

I always tell my friends do the research and get what YOU want and can afford. Can't send it back for an upgrade. I do have a couple of Yankee Hill Resonator R2 and K models. They work very well for the price. Around 500-600 K is 5" and under 10oz. Not as quiet as the longer R2 model which weighs around 16oz. Lots of options and we will see how well e-files will speed up the process. Good luck

Another vote for the Gemtech Tracker supressor. I got mine on sale got for $450, it weighs only 11ozs I think, and sound supression is just as good as ones that are double the price or more.
Only draw back? It's rated for 10 shots from a 300 winmag then you have to let it cool. But I bought it for hunting and light target shooting, so works prefect for my needs.

What's the value of a suppressor if the bullet is going supersonic?
I was at my son in law's house a couple of months ago, and he was shooting his .223 about 200 yards from where I was sitting. I could tell the muzzle blast was suppressed, but then I could hear the bullet breaking the sound barrier on it's way to the target. It seemed to me as if it was as loud as an unsuppressed shot.

The sound wave you hear isn't coming from the muzzle blast. It's from the bullet. The same as a wake from a boat. @ 90 degrees from the flight path. In either hunting scenario it deceives your true location with your prey. That's why I use one.

In additional to the directional confusion noted.....
At the shooters ear you typically get 30-35dB of sound suppression, which is huge. I don't use ear pro when I hunt so getting from high 160's dB to 140ish or even 135 is a huge change.
Another thing I've noticed over the years is that recoil isn't the only thing that will give you a flinch or tire you out. Sharp sound and blast does it too. Extended days at the range are way more pleasant and my mental fatigue is substantially lower not being exposed to the sharp sound and blast. Your nervous system does react to explosions going off a couple feet from your head and as such that is an issue to manage.
Is it a must have? No. Is it nice? You bet.

Were i inclined to invest in one.I would open the topic on British and European gun sites.They have been using suppressors for over 100 years.And are encouraged by their governments to use them.
Jiminaz: Thanks for good analysis. My son in law likes his, but keeps inching toward a .30 Blackout so he doesn't have the supersonic crack following the shot.
Historically I would have said to go with a trusted brand that gets you as much cross coverage as possible, my favorite centerfire being a rugged surge (k config for .300 blk or .223, and can suppress up to 300 rum) with an excellent warranty.
Right now, you have e-file form 1's going in less than 30 days, so you are only out 200 bucks and not the crazy wait if you end up not loving it.

epoletna, I get true hollywood quiet from a suppressed Tikka T1X (22 LR bolt gun) and subsonic ammo. You just hear the action click and then the bullet striking the target or backstop. Quieter than an air gun.
With a semi-auto subsonic you will still have a fair amount of sound from the action cycling and some amount of port pop when the action opens.
