Scope for long range

I picked up a vortex viper hs lr 4-16x for $350 a month ago. Haven't gotten to use it past 600 yards yet but it feels and looks solid. I put it on a .300WM that will never be more than an 800 yard gun but I think the scope will out perform the rifle.

Hi guys!

Could you recommend a scope to shoot between 100 and 1000 yards? I need something on the budget and only well known brands. I don't need something extremely good, only a scope good enough to do the job. That's it.

there are alot of scopes that will fit the bill for ya ...here is what i roll with for 1000 yrd on a budget...leupold mark ar 6x18x40 with mildot ret and custom turret....6x18 vx2 with wind plex and cds turret...with 20 moa rail and 3000 fps you should get 1000 no problem....adjustments track great cost is around 500-550 ish

Quality glass Trump's magnification all day. 4.5-14 is all that's necessary to 1000 yards. At least in the Leupold VX3 LR or Mark 4 models. Can't speak for the AR series but Leupold is hard to beat at a certain level of glass. Getting into the 6and 8 series glass and there's no comparison.

True. By comparison in quality scopes it's hard to beat Leupold dollar for dollar. Sightron makes very good glass also. In fact I think it's the best for the money. I can buy wholesale and can get Leupold for 30% less than any shop or online price and often still buy Sightron optics. I'm very impressed with the glass and tracking as well as reticle options.

Yes it's hard to beat Leupold for 1000.00 glass in Mark 4. Purchasing the STAC scopes for just over 300.00 and having an MOA reticle which compares to the wind Plex Leupold uses is just to hard to pass up. I have a few STAC scopes on my rifles and they do not let down. I also feel the same with Leupold but at 3 times the price, I seem to keep going back to Sightron.

Open bear hunting for example. Once opened theres a black box upper right side says " Post New Thread ". Hit it and start your thread.
