Reloder 26

There was a nice node around 3100. 3130 I hit pressure with light bolt lift and ejector mark. I was using a Labradar so I trust the numbers. Norma brass. Pressure was 1 grain higher to hit 3130. Had about .9 grains at 3100 area

It is throated long. But test I agree. I have a friend who shoot the same bullet @3100 with H1000 in his 300 RUM.

It's good stuff huh? I was running 3050-3060fps using RL26 and the 215's out of a bone stock 26" 300 Win. I never could get accuracy there with the aggressive barrel harmonics but as far as pressure, it was barely leaving extractor shine and extraction was normal. I did notice that even with lighter loads it produces LOTS of heat in the barrel. I'm guessing that it's probably harder on throats than something like H1000.

Tested loads in a 30-06 with 215 Bergers seated LONG (coal is 3.640) with a .250 jump to the lands. I tested from 56 grains all the way to 65 grains of RL26 with Fed 215M primers and winchester brass. The 65 grain was a compressed load for sure. Not to bad though. I let it sit for three weeks and the bullets were still in the same spot.

The 65 grain charge was 2840 FPS out of a 28 inch 5r 1:10 twist barrel. No real signs of pressure. I know hard to believe. The primers looked no different then the 56 grain charge. No smear on the brass and the bolt opened just as easy as it does when it empty.

I plan to play around more with the 65 grain load and see what I can get out of it for consistency.

Running test loads in a Factory 300wm M70 26" barrel with 180gr Nosler AccuBonds seated .050" off the lands and peaked out at 80.5grs for 3268fps before seeing the first signs of pressure which was slight ejector shine at 81.0grs and backed off since I had a node at 78.0grs for 3138fps and no pressure. I'm working on seating depth for accuracy to see if I can get this load to shine and is grouping under an inch as is at 100yds

I have also been running it in my new 7 saum with 180 eldm. 2920 over a grain of powder. .015 off the lands. Brass would last a long time at this speed.

Ran some 150 VLD and 150 Nosler Partitions with Reloder 26 in my Ruger tang safety M77, 270 Winchester, 22 inch barrel. Magneto speed for the chrono. My accuracy load had been either IMR 4831 or Reloder 22 with velocities of 2712 and 2812 respectively. 26 gave me 3020 fps with the Berger's and 2975 fps with the Partitions. No pressure signs whatsoever. Was very windy 15-20 mph so groupings were difficult. However the Berger's were all on the same horizontal plane at 100 yds and the Noslers were "nearly" identical. Holy Wah! as we say up here in da Yoop.

Shot the SAUM again today 42F dropping to 35F at sunset. It hasn't changed for us. Least not this particular jug, maybe it's lot to lot inconsistency that everyone complains about.
3050fps
3058fps
3069fps
