Maybe this will help.Just received my adg brass. Anyone got an idea how much to back off my initial loads so i don't go over pressure. Have a couple options with powder. H1000, H4831sc, n565. Hoping to shoot 168gn Barnes bullet.
I would suggest shipping the Adg brass to me then I'll let you know…Just received my adg brass. Anyone got an idea how much to back off my initial loads so i don't go over pressure. Have a couple options with powder. H1000, H4831sc, n565. Hoping to shoot 168gn Barnes bullet.
I'm planning on using a fairly low charge for the first firing of the ADG brass I have, similar to what @Benny119 suggested, with some cheaper bullets to harden the brass and break in the new gun. Then will do some pressure testing with 180gr ELDM on 2nd firing.Just received my adg brass. Anyone got an idea how much to back off my initial loads so i don't go over pressure. This.... but in general shoot lighter loads for the first firing to work harden the case head. Then 2nd firing, let er eat.
Just getting started here with similar barrel/supplies. FollowingOkay boys. Got some h1000, Retumbo, 175g eldx, and 180g berger vld hunter out of a 22" proof barrel. Running suppressed near sea level. Started near max per Hodgden data at 3.3" coal. Running out of a ridgeline fft. I'll post results soon.

67.5?I have some 7828ssc, H4831sc, and more H1000 and StaBall HD on the way. Gonna run 175gr ABLRs out of my Savage/Proof 22" barrel at 156' elevation. StaBall HD has given me really good groups at ~2875fps average. The last lot of Hornady PH factory rounds had 97.5gr of stick powder. Iffen it was RL26, that's a hot load.
Oopsie! Yes - 67.5gr! 97.5 would be nuclear and would require a 20-ton seating press.67.5?
