Official Hammer bullets Terminal Performance (picture heavy)

One of Roy Wetherby's examples was hit a brick wall with a a fast moving small vehicle , then a brick wall with a slow moving big vehicle and see witch one does more damage too both the wall and the vehicle .
That isn't really the best analogy ha ha....a semi doing 60 does more damage than a sedan doing 90. I understand what he was saying though

Interesting to see the gigantic entrance wounds on some of these critters. I shoot the 124 HH out of my 18" PRC and to date have shot 3 elk and 1 mountain goat. All my entrances were tiny. I had one "semi" petal shed, but bullet still worked well. I really like the minimal amount of meat loss when I use these bullets.

entrance wounds
Every entrance I've got from a Hammer has been a pinhole, I couldn't even find one until the deer was caped and quartered. Right in the shoulder crease, zero blood shot, slipped between ribs on the way in.

One I had to hunt for the exit wound on even. No blood on the ground, the thing might as well have died from fright for all appearances.

What velocity are you getting out of your 18" barrel with the 124 HH?

235 gr Hammer Hunter exit - bull moose at 90 yards. .338 Sherman short, 24" barrel 62.0 Varget 2850fps mv. Couldn't be happier. Also took a whitetail at 275 and a muley at 80 yards - both base of the skull/neck shots.

I shot last year's buck with something like a 7Weatherby necked up to 8mm with a Hammer Shock Hammer 181 grain with a muzzle velocity of 3,120 fps. It hit left of the front of the left shoulder and exited behind the right shoulder. I couldn't find the entrance until I skinned it. It was only 70 yards away.

I have nothing against Hammers; I'm working some loads up on some right now. But all these pics in this thread don't show anything my 6.5x06 hasn't been doing with 120gr Nosler BTs for the past 40 years.
Not sure what you mean. The thread was started a couple of years ago when there wasn't a ton of terminal performance pics for the Hammers. Don't remember who started the thread, but it was to get pics out so that people could see them. When we really learn stuff is when less than ideal impacts are made with good success. That is what really separates great bullets from the rest.
