N560 or N565 for 6.5 prc?

Was using the Hammer 124gr. Couldn't quite find a sweet spot. Switched to the Barnes LRX 127gr. Tightened up nicely. Mine likes the RL26 better. The 565 didn't do bad either. Did not like the 568. Now I have almost 2 lb of it sitting in my powder supply. That's the game lol.

6.5 PRC Defiance XM Action- 26" proof Carbon barrel 1:8 twist
60.0 gr H1000 - 3010 COAL 3.2"

Unrelated but I run N560 in my 300 WSM 26" Barrel (1:9 twist
195 Badland Bd-2 69.8 gr N560- 3002 fps
That wsm grains seems more inline with the case size than what berger shows for the prc. If I tried to load to their levels I'd smoke primer pockets in 1 firing. I don't how you get 69 grains of extruded powder in that case at 2.955 coal and a 156.

My experience with Berger data is it depends on the day and who sends it to you. I have 3 different sets of data for the 6.5prc from Berger and none of the 3 match the others. Start low and work up especially with their data.

Agreed. I have a couple too. Don't trust it at all.

I took your advice last summer regarding N560 as a replacement for RL26. Spot on. It seems more temp stable and still produces great accuracy with velocity within 10fps in my 6.5 prc. Running 53.5grns with 210gm pushing the 156 at 2930. Great advice and thanks for sharing.

Welcome. Glad it worked out.
