That is a beauty for sure. I just did a build to make for an easier carrying rifle ending in the 8.5 lb range scoped. I know you can go a lot lighter but it sure feels light and handy at that weight. what bullet are you planning to feed your 28?

Awesome looking gun hope you have lots of good luck with it .I just changed hunting rifles to a lighter one .I used my 338 win mag ruger 77 for 33 years or was 10.5 pounds you don't want a light weight 338 win mag .I changed to savage model 11 260 rem and used 155 grain mega tip bullets .It hits deer like a lack truck .It only weighs 7.4 pounds ready to hunt .

Sorry I have been slow on the responses. I love the rifle. Looks and feels great. Got a scale and weighed it the other day. I will take 9.2 lbs over 14 any day.
