Must use 30 cal for moose

No desire to go to Alaska again, but if I did, I'd take my .375 H&H, rather than the .300 WM I took before. Big sow kept coming around our fresh meat. Ultimately scared off with warning shots. But a little dicey for a minute.

what do these numbers mean ?
these numbers tell me that I have 152 days until moose season and I have to use a 30 caliber cartridge to hunt moose with

Don't believe me ? These maths don't lie ..

152 (days) divided by 6 (the months the days are in) = 25.3333333 + 5 (letters in Moose) = 30.3333333 = 30 and then the seven .3's represent the letters in caliber

I have to hunt moose with a 30 caliber rifle this coming season in 152 days ! the numbers don't lie !!!!

Which 30 caliber cartridge ? That is still a mystery though , but I'm working on solving that riddle, stand by .......

300 win mag will do great. I use 338 win mag for every large game animals. You don't really need to get wrapped up in very expensive rifles with Hard to get ammo. Some will be glad to spend Your money for very expensive equipment

Yet another revelation. The most thirtiest thirty that ever thirtied.

load it with an accelerator sabot and the Berger 30 grain bullet for good measure.

Accelerator= dirty. That makes it a Dirty 30 Squared. Nothing more bad@ss than that.

yup, gonna have ta say been there done that, many times over before the 300 RUM appeared on the scene

took this bull in the mid to late 90's, can't remember the exact year now but I had gotten rid of my 30-06 some years back and still had a box of 180 gr Black Talon ammo, pulled the bullets and loaded them in my 300 Win Mag, shot this bull with that bullet which was renamed "Fail Safe" around that time

I read a story years ago about a native up north that had half a coffee can of powder and a tirty tirty(30-30). He didn't have a lot of bullets and sometimes he would reuse the bullets that weren't banged up to much. Try that with a ultra mag ! The story was referring to moose hunting by the way.

Well, there you have it.... 30-30 seems to be the best, it's 2x a 30.

If you use a 30-30 rolling block you can shoot pointy 2-30g bullets

and prefer 3000 fps and faster, like these 30 cal 236 gr bullets at 3150 fps ..... everything else is uninteresting and boring (to me)
