Was putzin around checking things out on Saturday morning, It's almost time !

The bulls are scraping velvet off and molesting small spruce trees ... gonna give them some more time to harden up & color their antlers, then I'm coming back for the steaks ! (and heads)

checked on my potato field at base camp and dug up some Red Lady, German Butterball & Cherry Red spuds, thems home fries are the best right next to the steaks on the plate

my moose hunting base camp is also my private shooting range and the 24x36 hunting cabin/shooting bunker is gonna have steel pilings driven in, Sept 5th .... Alaskan spruce beams & posts are getting cut for the timber frame cabin, won't have it ready for this hunting season but will have 11 months to finish it for next year

and I still haven't decided which cartridge & bullet to use, probably write down names on pcs of paper and draw one out of a hat every morning, to see who gets to go hunting, should be fair, ha !

My wife shot her moose with an 03-A3, with orig 30-06 bbl. that's 30 cal and 06 for the 6 months. Serendipity!!!

I think the Swedes have been taking Moose and big ones with the 6.5x55mm Swede for a long time and still do.

If you decide to run with a 1:10" twist on your long gun, our 153gr Afterburner would do very well!

Got 3 boxes ordered last night for my factory 26" 1:10 twist barreled 300 RUM, if they get here in time, I'll use them

107 gr of Retumbo should get me around 3700 FPS in the 26" barrel

what do these numbers mean ?
these numbers tell me that I have 152 days until moose season and I have to use a 30 caliber cartridge to hunt moose with

Don't believe me ? These maths don't lie ..

152 (days) divided by 6 (the months the days are in) = 25.3333333 + 5 (letters in Moose) = 30.3333333 = 30 and then the seven .3's represent the letters in caliber

30 CALIBER ..... WOW, AMAZING !
I have to hunt moose with a 30 caliber rifle this coming season in 152 days ! the numbers don't lie !!!!

Which 30 caliber cartridge ? That is still a mystery though , but I'm working on solving that riddle, stand by .......
