Am proud to say I impressed lots of guys their with my skills. Not saying I'm that good but most were dude bros that had every tacticool part on an ar but were still trying to rest it on the mag and shoot 300 yards with a red dot. One guy even told on me for rapid fire which is a no no but the owner said it was fine cause my groups was all right were it should.

I hear its nice back home to. I should have been home over a week ago. Ive been in a hotel for far to long now and got so crazy I went and bought a new gun just to spend a few hours at a range I found here. Going to work got expensive quick. Lol.

Any what kind of gun did you get?

I'll go out again in the am. Saturday's trip didn't yield any hogs. I saw where hogs had been, but didn't see any.

I heard the hogs fighting this morning, but they didn't come out to the corn pile. They must be in the area since the corn pile I saw this morning (maybe 20 lbs of corn scattered around) was almost 40 bags of rotting corn on Saturday morning.

Or possibly a few bears?? I put out a camera this morning, so I'll check it in a few days.

I need lots of things, including glasses.

Until the crops are harvested, I don't think I'm going to have much luck with the hogs.

I've got permission to hunt a swamp bottom. I've got to put in a ladder stand and cut down a few small trees to improve the field of view. It is hard to put into words how thick the cover is down here. I'll try to take some photos later this week and post them.

My daughter goes back for her second year of college next week. Last year, we went kayaking a few days before she went off to college as our last "daddy-daughter" trip of the summer. This year, she wants to go hog hunting. I couldn't be more proud of her! I'm going to call in all of my good luck to get her one.

scrmblr: Reference your daughter, with your luck or lack thereof, with Hogs, maybe you would be better off taking her to shoot pool or something.....LOL

That's awesome! All you need to do now is mount a gun on there and start killing hogs. But as small as that thing is, I think a .22 LR is the only thing it could carry and still get off the ground.

What is the range on that thing? Does it transmit video back to you?

i don't know much about it. belongs to a hunting buddy. i think it will reach a mile?? if it loses contact, it'll automatically come back.

don't know about xmitting video back. i've heard of that with a phone app, but this vid was just recorded on a chip.

Still pretty cool.

The brush is so thick around here that I wouldn't be able to use it in most of the places I hunt. If it is not open farm land, it will have pine trees planted.

Is that a promotion or a demotion?

My daughter and I went out this morning. We saw a big 10 pointer, 9 does, and about a 4 foot long copperhead. The copperhead wasn't bothering us, and since we were on our way to one of my bait piles, we left him alone. It was a good reminder that I need to get a new pair of snake boots.

I switched the memory cards in one of my trail cameras. At this particular location, something ate about a ton of rotting corn in two nights.

It looks like the hogs are back! We missed them by about 3 hours this morning.
