Just for killing pigs, I have a Springfield National Match over iron sights I use in the brush, or a Remington 700 for long range or several others, including a Mauser Model 12/61. Just thought I'd get something a little more exotic and since I'm only referring this to my cousin, hope he follows my advice. He can get kind of flaky sometimes, but what do you expect from a Lawyer?
I have found very few things a .308 won't drop if shot right and have the advantage that if the **** ever hits the fan, there will always be ammunition available. Can't say that about the .458 and absolutely dislike the .223 for personal reasons, having carried one in combat. Personally, the 9mm is a *** too, so only carry .45 or .357 handguns, not that I'm biased or anything!......
djones: FYI, The word biased does not mean what you would like to interpret it as, from the way it's pronounced.
As far as the psuedo military rifles like the Socom, don't have much use for them.

I agree that half the time you forget I'm around, however, the other half of the time, you are obviously remembering, since by your own admission, sometimes the skid marks in your underwear get past 2nd gear! All that shifting (Misspelled?) must get uncomfortable at times.

ok titmouse. if you won't post a hog pic, i will. normally coy is too humble to take kill pics, but he knows i collect them and humors me once in a while. this hog had pretty good cutters, so he chewed the head off to save the skull and used the knife to pick the bristles out of his teeth.
I will admit that you and Coy have taken a lot more Hogs than I have, however a lot of mine have been up close and personal and we honestly never thought about taking pictures of our kills. Plus the fact that I only hunt several times a year, which I fear is coming to a halt because of circumstances outside my control.
I will say that I have personally only taken down about 40 + Hogs, which is about a weeks worth of kills for you guys, but again, they are in your backyard and it's a 2 day drive for me to get to the ranch.
Tell Coy that if he is going to continue chewing heads off, I have some HET (High explosive Thermite) rounds in .308 and that way he can cook the hog before he ever gets there to chew on it. I found that it does improve the taste significantly. Nice Hog BTW.
Very surprised you didn't inflate that Hogs head with your Photo-slop program and superimpose your head where his is...... Wouldn't have done any good to inflate the size of your head, you need room to show the Hog too!

djones, have you read "Crow Killer"? Its the real story of Liver Eating Johnson. One of the best books I've ever read! Jeremiah Johnson was a Sunday School teacher compared to the real Johnson.
