In the Ear? Really???

Galveston,
Would have been better if I had really been from Alaska, just something that popped into my head while we were sitting there. Guy kind of irritated me. Besides, my tape measured in centimeters rather than inches.....LOL...A lot of my replies just sort of pop into my head when sitting there...Sort of like I never know what I'm going to say when I sit down in front of this computer.

The Redfish was taken over towards the Louisiana side of the bay in an area where the water was posted as polluted so I released him, but he was about 28" long so not being familiar with Redfish thought it was a pretty good size. My brother said that it was a good one. A lot of fun to catch!

Where we were mainly fishing was about 2 miles west from the Bridge where an inland opening opened into a sea of grass and small channels. My brother knows the name of it, but don't remember off hand. Seems to me that it had the name "Anderson" in it, but not sure. The Specks seemed to be concentrated just out from the opening about 75-100' that leads into the channels. Surprised me because the water wasn't all that deep.

As far as Hogs I suppose it's a restricted hunting area with all the housing within a mile or so and the range of a rifle bullet. Might have to take djones down there with his machete!......

Yeah djones, we know!...When we go bird hunting, I always give some credit to the dogs, myself! I'm sure Coy did the same thing out of sympathy for the lack of hogs you've posted recently.......

Sorry guys, ultra busy ....Will try to get back on tonight or tomorrow morning, but have out of state company that dropped in unannounced for 3 days. When they saw the sign I have hanging in the guest bedroom they decided to leave after 3 days. First 3 days are Free - next 3 nights are $69.00 per night after that it goes up $10.00 per day for every night over 6....Don't have lots of lingering freeload.......errrr....Company!

Went back and took a closer look at that picture...Aside from the fact that the tire tread marks across them hogs are a 1400R20 pattern, which is a military 5 ton tire and the tires are 48" in height and won't fit on that pickup truck because of body clearance means that djones didn't pay attention to what he was doing.

In addition, were them hogs breeding while he photo slopped the picture?...Other wise where did the other two hogs back under the truck come from? They sure weren't there in the first picture.

Let me guess,............he was buzzy!.........Not going to disagree about that! I think the only reason he posted it the second time with the tire marks was that he got to put his picture on the net twice for the same picture!

You're going to have to start paying better attention djones...!

And Coy, you ought to be ashamed for letting him get away with it!

...Packrat, new daytime set up to pop some pork! Tested it this evening after dark and did a good thing. Had to drop the illumination on the reticle a bit but was good to dark thirty.
My take on this scope is that she will get me by until I can have the Zeus 3 640 delivered for night time hunts.
The range finder is dead on. Walked out on the main street and was actually able to range street signs out to 1170yds or so. Had to put it up as some passersby were looking at me funny. Sure glad I didn't still have it mounted on the M&P10!!

Galveston,
Not going to comment, you know how good it looks, just gong to sit here and drool...

Here's my favorite daytime baby, or was until I starting hazing out with cataracts...Which are being removed in the next month or so..They are telling me mid to late April..........Then back to having fun...

Finally got an archangel stock for it, but haven't mounted it yet. Archangel stock is actually lighter than the beefed up, glass bedded Super Match wood stock and the LOP on the wood stock is actually about 1/2" too long for me to be totally comfortable ..I also lose close to 2 pounds by changing out the stocks. Everything on it was furnished and installed and then shot in, by Springfield. The 6-24 x 56 Scope is mounted high so I can use the iron sights if I want. Only thing I don't like is the cheek pad so that's why I got the archangel stock with the adjustable cheek pad built in.

You know, maybe you ought to send that MP-10, with the scope of course, to me so, I can evaluate it...Promise I'll send it back....LOL

Galveston,

I was sitting out in the front of my driveway smoothing out a old shotgun stock about 8-10 months ago and someone called it in to the county sheriff's office that I was waving a gun around in my front yard. The next day, I was working just inside the garage door and noticed a sheriff's vehicle across and down the street under a tree and watching me with Bino's so walked over and asked him if i could help him. That's when I found out that someone (I know who they are, Liberal a**holes) had called in the report.

I invited him back to the garage and he saw that I was just restoring an old shotgun, got to talking and he had his grandfathers old shotgun he wanted to restore so told him to come by when he was off duty and bring the shotgun. From there, I've had about 4-6 different officers stop by and ask questions about restoring old weapons and have helped a couple of them restore their rifles or shotguns or obtain parts to repair them to good condition. Since these were donated weapons I was working on for the Weapons for Warriors program, several have donated old rifles, and a 12 Ga. for the program.

People are just funny from the days when I climbed on a bus with my .22 and rode out into the country to shoot rabbits when I was about 14 - 15.... Even traded one bus driver 2 rabbits for the ride back to town and .50 cents. No one ever commented about the 22 except to ask me where I was going to hunt. This was in Orange County, California before the yahoo's took it over.

But then again, there are more wierdo's out there than then because back then, if they tried some of the crap they try now, they executed them, almost publicly and everyone got the message that it was unacceptable behavior. Actually studies have shown that only 3% of the population creates about 99% of the trouble but that still leaves over 9,000,000 of them out there, including the ones that have gone into public office!

Anyway, have a happy and enjoy that setup!

Understood Packrat about some folks these days and how times have changed. I can remember back when I was a kid almost all the old farmers and ranchers you would see in town would almost all have a couple of guns hanging in the rack visible in the window behind the seat of their farm trucks.
As far as my neighbors, they are all not of the "Liberal" persuasion thank goodness and have no problems with me having a gun out in the front yard when I am doing some cleaning when the weather is nice down here. Several of them came by last evening to take a look through the new scope as well.
Decided to raise the scope 1/2" off the rail so that it would make it easier to access the charging handle, did the boresight, and now it's off to run some rounds through her to zero at 100yds and make any programming changes I need to on the scope and then start looking for some bacon!

You might want to ask djones as he had the same problem with the charging handle back in the front of this thread. Understand he got it resolved with a different set of mounts. Now, thinking about it, I think it was with the NVD he was having problems with.

Anyway, can you shoot at the hogs down along the inland passage?

Yes...Hogs,Coyotes,etc. On the west side of the canal I don't unless I have permission from the land owners of course, but the spoil banks on the East side of the Intracoastal are wide open.

Well, what you waiting for?.....LOL

We need some pictures on this site to keep the viewers coming back!......:D

Post some pictures as soon as you can.
