scrmblr, I miss the work shop I had in Vail, AZ where we restored the donated rifles and sold them to benefit the Arizona Veterans Outreach program. Some of the guys were Border patrol and got transferred, another guy took a job in San Jose, CA., lasted about a year and moved back, but to an outlying town and then I sold the house and moved too! After my wife passed away, it just wan't home anymore. Got rid of my bigger tools, Drill Press, Lath, Bench grinder, etc.
Now that we've got most of the remodeling/landscaping done to this house, am getting bored. Still too cold to travel much, at least where we want to go, and aside from a couple of 1950's shotguns my brother and niece want restored, don't have much going on. Retch Rancid, aka djones doesn't keep me busy hassling him and isn't giving me anything to work with. I did go back and count all the Hogs in pictures he has posted and they total to 236 total starting from his first post. In the last batch of photo's he claims 112 hogs, but I only count about 60, and some of them he photo'd twice, maybe 3 times. I think all three shooters took off their shoes, counted on their toes and fingers and then doubled or tripled the number because they kept losing count. Either that or they counted each leg as a whole hog!
Will be really, really glad when it warms up and we head out and can do some Hog hunting ourselves and not have to depend on djones. Then I can start my own thread and call it "Stick it in your ear, Really!". My lady friend was born in Santa Rosa, New Mexico (Yes, New Mexico IS a State, and you would be surprised how often we get asked that question) and her relatives there are saying that the hogs have followed the Pecos River up from the border and are starting to be a nuisance, so there may be some hunting there when we get there!
I guess what I have is referred to as Spring Fever!
There is nothing wrong with toys scattered everywhere. Enjoy it, because the day after tomorrow, they will be teenagers and they won't want to be seen with their parents. Then you can build your own "Man Pocket". And when you do, make sure it is adequately ventilated.
I imagine in djones case, his parents didn't want to be seen with him, but that is a different story altogether.
Somewhere back in the thread is a story about a friend of ours who let some San Antonio hunters on to his property to shoot Hogs. This is what you are up against getting people to let you shoot hogs on their property.
Going to shut down for the night.
