First lite or Kuiu

If you're willing to pay a littlie bit more look into Forloh. They are an American company and their products are Made in USA. They're in Montana.
I've heard of them and one other that are USA made merino clothing. I need to check them out some more. I'd rather pay a little more to keep my money in the states if possible.

I had to stop getting the Camofire emails....lots of temptation.
I just ordered a Kuiu pro bino pouch from the Kuiu outlet store for $60, not the new G3 version. With hydration pouch and cell phone pocket at $15 each. The G3 version has the cell phone pouch on back of bino pouch that would be nice. Got some good deals from the outlet store in the past.

I have First Lite wool bottoms, the knee length ones, and they seem too short. I have some from a few years ago and they are longer than the new ones I bought last year. The bottom of the leg pulls up into the bend of my knee. I like their boxers though. Kuiu zip off bottoms are a little longer and socks will reach them, no trouble keeping them in place. Someone with less than a 34 inseam may have less issues.

Purchase what works for your hunting style. I use Kuiu, First Lite, Sitka etc. The deer don't care if your camo matches. Build a clothing system with the top priority of being comfortable and able to hunt through any conditions regardless of the brand.

Ptarmigan jacket and pants (down insulated) for 20°-30° day sits and some Meriwool 400 base layer.

I second this. I wear Meriwool lightweight base layers when it's a cold hunt. I usually run pretty warm so I wear uninsulated boots and the last 2 years wore base layers.

I purchased the Meriwool base layers originally for working in Kodiak, and for working in the cold. I also use them for hunting. One set has lasted a little over 3 years with semi-regular use...although, like most base layers...the crotch is blown out like a pair of Carharrts.

Will never buy anything First lite again. Most of what I purchased from them failed, didn't fit well, or fell apart very quickly. That said. Almost everything I wear now is KUIU besides boots, underwear, and socks. I have items that are close to 10 years old now and are still going strong. You most likely won't find some one that uses and abuses KUIU more than myself as I wear it all the time for work. If you can wait for sales that is your best buying option and do yourself a favor and get a pair of attack pants, Peloton, and a strong fleece right off the bat. Really good stuff.
