When others talk about youth rifles, I bought this, and a Ruger M77 compact in 6.8 spc. To very good calibers in lightweight rifles that dont recoil. My oldest no longer hunts, but going on 4 years now with my soon to be 15 year old daughter, and she uses a 6.5 cm. Love that CZ for some reason.I have always wanted one those cz in 762x39
Beautiful! Love the wood! This is what I hunt big game with. Built it myself and it's all period correct to the year 1770. 54 Cal with 1:70 twist and shoots patched round balls.

The 6.5 Grendel is another excellent caliber for youth and recoil shy individuals. There's very little recoil yet they do an excellent job on deer. When others talk about youth rifles, I bought this, and a Ruger M77 compact in 6.8 spc. Congratulations to your son! As a father that feeling is much better than when you pull the trigger yourself.I picked up a Springfield Waypoint in 308 and it has been my go to hunting rifle for the past couple years. Rifle Shoots lights out with handloaded 165gr Sierra GameChangers. Plus my son took his first deer with it so it's got some sentimental value to it.
