Ever Misplace A Rifle in your Home

I was out archery elk hunting. At end of day I ran into Steve, from Hammer. We walked out together and got to my truck bs ing.Got up at camp next day, where I was hunting with a pro shop guy.I said ok funny, where did you hide my bow.Said I didn't hide it.Well I put it on my truck box and drove out of ditch where was day before, was about a 20 mile dirt road, went back, there it was laying there.Shot a nice lil 6x6 later that week .

I had been looking for one of my pistols for about four months when a state trooper called and said my daughter had been in an accident and was all right, but he had found a pistol she wasn't old enough to carry in the car. I guess it had slid out from under the seat. After he confirmed it was my gun and she didn't know about it. He locked it in the trunk and told me to make sure I got it out. My daughter wasn't too happy with me.

Never said that.
I said it was irresponsible.
If you can afford expensive guns than you can afford another safe to put them in.
I have "several" safes.

But due to being an old man, I have had numerous life experiences that, sometimes, has led to items being misplaced. Sometimes in the shop, and sometimes, in the house.

How about being out on a traffic stop, after contacting the driver going back to your patrol car and looking down and noticing your holster is empty. Then realizing it is still locked in the trunk of the patrol car because you secured it there when you were moving your in-custody from the arrest you made on your last call and forgot to take out when you went 10-8.

lol the Savage 16 204 I "misplaced" which started this Amusing thread, I found in the corner by the garage furnace , which I apparently carried back there to check the vent pipes being it was -20. Yes I keep a few in the garage being I work on stuff all the time out there, trucks, snowmobiles, 4wheelers, boats And Guns 😃

2 years ago buddy and I were going deer hunting up the mountain. I loaded my truck in morning while still dark. I park up off the street next to fence. I drove about 3 miles to his house. He's loading his gear in my truck. It's a little light out now. Last thing he loads in truck is his rifle. It hit me. I didn't remember loading my rifle and pistol into truck . I said get in quick ! Got home and the rifle leaning upper against fence and 10mm in shoulder holster hanging on fence. Glad I didn't drive an hour up the mountain and notice missing.
Lately I've been forgetting things. He now goes through a checklist to make sure I have everything. Keys, wallet, hat, etc.. Lock your door ? Not funny anymore 🙄
