300 Norma. If I reloaded that's what I'd like to build.

That is the best part. 300 wm is everywhere
It is all about preference and intended purpose. The .300 WM (I have three) remains my go-to chambering for antelope to elk-size games up to 1000Y. I harvested an MT bull elk at 931Y with 190 Berger 3043 FPS of MV. I wanted more OOMPH at 1000Y with a .30 cal, so I have the .30 LARA (.300 Jarrett Improved, I can shoot factory .300 WBY in a pinch) built. For pass 1000Y, I have the .338 Thor (NMI) to contend with.

Realistically for me at this point I need to be 800 and in preferably 500-600 yards is a range I'm pretty comfortable with. And in those ranges a WM can kill anything with proper shot placement. The rifle is far more capable than I am, I need practice on wind reading. It seems to be my weakest part currently. I plan on running a 9 twist with federal terminal ascent

That should work.

That would all depend on what bullet you want to use.
I'd like to use that 200 grain terminal ascent! I had a rifle that couldn't shoot that at all and I have 10 boxes of it now. It's a bullet with solid construction and a pretty good bc
