I still haven't received the bottom metal from pt&g. I will try to call them this week if I can get off this well location before they close. Do we still need rings/bases?

Hello Ty.....I was not referring to the bottom metal for your dads, but rather to the one Jerry is building. I guess we do need bases and rings if you are not aware of any being shipped? Thanks for the update........Rich
I can guarantee the gun my Dad is getting will not be sold, ever, and he was wounded while he was in the millatary. I think Rich's idea was not just for hunting but also for long range shooting and to help someone who wants to shoot but doesn't have the means get out in the field, all purely out of the goodness of his heart and the same goes for all the contributors. If you want to do a build for a wounded warrior hunter you should start a thread to do so and I would be happy to donate to your build, but I don't think it right to come on a thread and and imply that the people that are receiving these great gifts are unworthy or not deserving, that's the way I took it anyway. It should be for a Wounded Warrior hunter. If you gave up your health for this country I'm in.
As far as for someone who doesn't have alot of resources, there are factory guns and of course we all know the cost of a rifle is just the tip of the ice berg on the cost of hunting so not sure this well intended gift really helps other than giving someone something they can sell to raise funds.
Its a nice idea and if for a wounded warrior hunter I would donate a bartlein barrel or something.

Rich I pm'd Jerry to get a handle on what he wants, and had not heard back. I'm up for sending him the funds to get it done. I just really haven't done anything with bottom metal, and want to get what he wants first time through.
It's alway possible I sent it to the International Space Station given my computer skills, and will try again. Wouldn't be the first time I sent an e-mail to the wrong spot.
Or I'd be happy sending you a check if you know what to get.
Rich,
What's the budget for the scope? This week is the hunting show in rockland county there's usually some good over stock sales
Does it matter MIL or MOA ?
I remember now that you were going to so maybe he didn't get it. My electronics often go to space as well Thanks for the offers! We will get this done one way or another......Rich
Looking back I can't find ever sending JE an email. My apologies for a delay. I suspect I tried sending from my phone when I was house sitting for my daughter. AT&T quits about a block from her house.
If I'm reading correctly the bottom metal is taken care of?
Just to start getting a concrete idea on what a scope cost-I'll put $300 in towards it. Flexible if we get close to a better quality one.
