Christmas build challenge

This is what I misunderstood, sorry for the confusion.

The 270 brass needs to be neck turned, or is that the 280?

There is so much variation in brass, it is difficult to tell without measuring a loaded round. Your diameter with a bullet loaded should not exceed .290". If it does, turn it down some.

Gentleman, I cannot say how amazed I am, I wish I could thank each one of you in person, I was able to meet and spend some time with Jerry of J E Custom going over the rifle, and just chatting about shooting some. I can't wait to give yall a range report, and hopefully put it to use on some game in the near future.

I know a lot of people made sacrifices to put this together, I assure you it will be cherished by me and my family for many years to come.

This post is not intended to take any credit or steal anyone's thunder. I just though it was time to give credit where credit is due.

First, I would like to thank Len for this web site and allowing Rich to organize something as great as this was. without the support and a great site, this type of generosity would probably never happen.

A big thanks to Rich (Elkaholic) for organizing the builds and gathering all the participants that contributed parts and money. this took a lot of time, effort and patience on his part and made a couple of guys very happy.

I was honored, to be allowed to build Mitch's rifle with all quality parts sent and bought by the membership and hope everyone is happy with the outcome. It is a special thing to give back and everyone should feel good about there contributions.

I wish everyone could have seen Mitch's face when he received the rifle, It was a moment. I know Mitch has already thanked everyone, but I just wanted to add my thanks to all that took part and made it possible for these two projects to take place.

Thanks to all !!!

J E CUSTOM

Here is an update on the second build. Travis has ordered the reamer for next week on the 6.5 SS for "predator22's" dad. I am excited to see this one come together. I am sure that Travis will do an excellent job just as Jerry did......Rich

Here is an update on the last build. I know many of you were wondering where we were. I recently contacted Joel Russo and he assured me that the rifle would be ready in 2-3 weeks. I DEEPLY appreciate all the help from so many of you, and I know that the recipients do as well! Stay tuned for the finished product. God Bless all of you and God has Blessed America!!.......Rich

Happy Holidays

Lets see some pics of the rifles and the trophies taken this year.. Its great feeling so many of us donors go together to make this happen. I'm sure we all wanna see some animals down

I spoke with Joel Russo last week, he said my Dad's gun should be shipped this week. So as soon as I get it from the ffl when I get home I will get some pics up for you all. I still haven't told him about it so it's going to be a great Christmas for him!

I sure hope so!! This has taken FAR longer than I anticipated. We will all be eager to see the finished product, and and how it performs. Your patience just reinforces in me that you were a more than worthy candidate (through your dad of course). I suspect that you must take after him just a little:).......Rich

He is definitely not the most patient man in the world! But I do think that all he has been through and all the time he put in serving this beautiful country of ours makes him a worthy candidate for this great gift. I'm sure he will be very grateful for it and probably a bit mad at me for suggesting him for it.
Rich when you get a chance could you send me the information you have on case forming and load data? Don't want to ruin any of that great norma brass.
Thank you all and Merry Christmas!

I sure will. Also, feel free to call ANYTIME you want......Rich

Thanks for your support Rich. I'm sure I will take you up on that more than once. As soon as I get a few other builds wrapped up I'm considering a 7mm Sherman for a m700 270 I have that I don't use much anymore. Should be perfect for 175-180 grain bullets I think.

Yup, the 270 or 280 would get you over 3000 easily with 170-180 grainers

Predator,
I have the stock completed and I'm ready to ship the rifle out.... I received a copy of the FFL, but I'm waiting on a hard case for shipping.. There's still time to give it to him for Christmas, but we need to act quick. Probably best to call me so we can figure it out.
You have my number.

Shipping out on Monday.. Someone is going to be surprised with a wonderful Christmas present.
I'm glad to be a part of giving back.
