Bullet construction

I would like to see the data on the:
Nosler Combined Technology 30 Caliber Ballistic Silver Tip 180gr bullet. That's the heaviest bullet I could get my old Win mod 70 300WM Laredo LRH to shoot . With a MV 2936 FPS it penetrates a 5/16" plate at 1,000 yds. And that blew my mind!

I used the 180gr Ballistic Silver Tip uncoated Nosler second out of my 30-06,mv was 2992fps on that load,to kill a red stag at 200yds.The 180gr Noslers have a little thicker jacket than the 7mm Ballistic Tips, both are great bullets.Nosler has done some great things beefing up the jackets on their bullets. This is the internal wound channel.

The Combined Technologies is just a Ballistic Tip with a special coating on it, otherwise they're constructed exactly the same. Here's a screenshot straight from Nosler's page about them. The Accubonds are the same too, other than the jackets are bonded. The jackets are the same though.

So you essentially just used a Ballistic Tip 😉

The one pictured happens to be a 90gr .257" but I've done a few others in the past and they measured very similarly. These are the most up to date and highest quality pictures is all lol.
Thought it looked like the 90gr .257, I used to use them from my wby to shoot coyotes, that bullet often would exit broadside from a coyote at wby speeds. Definitely laid the smack down on dogs that made all the 22cal envious lol

Yeah it's one of my go-to bullets for coyotes too. I have an AR chambered in 25-45 Sharps and that's my go-to load in it.

I cut up a bunch of 25cal bullets just for reference with others shooting that cartridge and looking for the best bullet for their needs. It has its challenges as far as which bullets work with it due to the smaller case and magazine restrictions.

More bullets to add to this post. Here are some Hornady A-Tips. I was curious if the larger/heavier 30cal and 7mm versions were made like the .338" AMAX/ELDM- which is constructed more like en ELDX and has a thick tapering jacket along with an interlock ring.

What I found that the 30cal and 7mm are like every other A-Tip I've cut apart so far, and much like an ELDM. The .338, however, was somewhat similar to the 285gr ELDM, but rather than an actual interlock ring it just has a thicker portion near the base, then abruptly transitions to a thinner area, then tapers out. So in theory it would expand better than the 285gr ELDM, but it still has pretty thick jackets and is also a bit heavier and thus has more sectional density. It wouldn't be my first choice for hunting. I'll add more pics. It only allows 10 at a time.
