PS- this happened with Barnes TSX in 277 about 11 years ago just before deer season started and I had to load some rounds. Last minute changes like that are no fun.
I would run 5 of the same as you have been and review poi. If off then also load up 5 more making the overall appropriate adjust to match your initial jump to lands on the original load. The way im reading your explanation I'm thinking you will have a longer jump now.
I agree. Load 5 with the original BTO measurement. You still may need to tweak it a few thousandths. Your seating die setting will definitely change. Let us know what you find out.
I definitely suggest doing another seating depth test. Any secant ogive bullet (which a VLD is) can be finicky with jump. Hopefully it won't take too much to get back in tune. Theoretically it should be about where you were before, just requiring you to adjust you COAL to get there with the new bullet profile.
Since you can see a difference of the shape you should probably do a "Touch Point" test to find where the bullet just touches the lands and compare the CBTO of the new lot to the Touch Point with the old lot.
Yeah, makes sense. I normally do go back to the drawing board when a change like this comes along. An interesting aspect of this is that the advertised BC didn't change.
