Building a 22 creedmoor to optimize 88eld

The jbm tipped bullet stability calculator says that an 88 grain eldm would be fine in an 8 twist.
I have not shot the 88's in mine yet. So I would like to hear from people that have used the 88's in an 8 twist to see which calculator is correct.

This for me is a tricky cartridge, lots of trade offs, For as long as it has been around there is not that much info, however there is some good crossover info from 22 250 AI & 22. 243 shooters. My barrel will be in next week. Still waiting on my stock and reamer.

I ended up getting a 24" ace barrel tikka profile chambered by unknown munitions.

Using alpha LRP brass and hornady 88eld. With RL 26 I was up to 3350 without pressure signs, but accuracy was lacking.

With n555 I'm at 3180fps, a bit warm, but good accuracy. Almost identical results with 80eldm but higher speeds.

Will, thank you very much for updating us. Please continue with future updates. Please keep us in the loop.
I don't think I'll have a ton to update! I've burned down a couple 22 creedmoor barrels playing around and looking for the "right" combo and now I've found it so it will be my hot rod reserved for a few rounds a year at the range and killing stuff. Hopefully it's gonna last a little longer that way!

How many rounds down the tube before they lost it?

First barrel was a 1:7 twist..started blowing up 88s pretty early and by 500 rounds it was 1:10. So it got pulled. Might have had a tight spot or something because I never could get much speed from it. Second was a 1:8 rechambered tikka 22-250..that one was 600-700 in and opened up from 1.5 to 2" 10 shot groups. It never was an amazing shooter to start with so I decided to pull it rather than tinker more.

Will be interesting to see how far this one gets but it might be a long time because I don't plan to abuse it.
