The hunt was really fun! I shot a decent sized cow at a hair over 250 yards. She went about 5 yards and then expired.

Unfortunately I did not get any pics of the wound channel. I hunted with my buddy and his wife. they both used his 7PRC as well. I believe he shot 180 bergers. Both of their elk were dead within 10 yards of where they were shot.

My buddys elk was taken the farthest distance this year (450 yards), but last year he took his elk at 730 yards with his 7PRC and it was dead right there!

Congrats! I get 2861 fps shooting a 195 Berger in a Bob Beck Bad Rock rifle, 8" twist, 24" #4 barrel. Shoots great!

Hello,

I'm hoping to get my first elk this fall out west. My buddy lives out there and he swears by the ELDM and Berger bullets. THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT BULLET CHOICES

I am using my 7PRC, and my load development time this summer was cut short with some family stuff that came up. Anyway, I am using CCI 250 primers, ADG brass, 180gr ELDM, and H1000 powder. I loaded 20 thousands off the lands and my 66.5gr powder load shot .3" groups. my velocity was 2847.8 fps

Should I be trying to get more velocity? Or stick to this load due to the accuracy?

What range does 2848fps get for me ek sized game? I am capped at 700 yards because that's as far as I can practice.

I'm running 3 7prc shooting 168 Berger 22" barrels slowest one is 3028 fastest I have shooting Berger is 3120 if I remember right.
70 reloader 26 91/2 rem primer 69 V V with 215 primer
