7 mm SHERMAN SHORTMAG vs 7 SAUM

What's everyone getting for speeds with the 195 out the ss? There's only one load data that I've found on it and that was with rl26. Wondering if anyone is using h1000 or n565 with the 195? And also twist rates and barrel length! Berger's calculator says my 8.5 twist is just under stable with a 1.48 stability factor at 1000' in elevation in 40 degrees. My hunts can go anywhere from that to 4000'. Just trying to make sure I'll be okay!

So why not use a 180 then?
Why would you compromise on stability?
The 180 will do everything the 195 can do in this case size.

I'm shooting the 180 right now. Just exploring other options. I like the higher bc to buck wind if I can get the 195 up to 2860 or so, even though it's a negligible difference. Just exploring and learning is the main thing!

The ss will run the 195 past 2900' with a 26" barrel. Usually can find a good load between 2850-2900.
You will need to jump it bit to run in most DBM's though. There will be some bullet in the case

My rifle is built on a tikka so I have plenty of room in the mag. I'm guessing that's with rl26? I'm getting 2960 with n565 and the 180 right now. And I'm about .7 grains from extractor marks.

aaaah. I would put some FB in it then.
I cant believe youre getting extractor marks that early with 180's unless you have a ?????
barrel?

I had slight extractor marks at 63.3 grains and heavy bolt lift at 63.6. My 2960 load is 62.6. I'm going to have to rework the load a little with the new brass I just ordered from you today. Since I left my brass in the bath too long and ruined it like a rook lol

You may have a somewhat tight barrel?
It may speed up some too depending on what your round count is
