Thanks for the feedback I will have a custom reamer made as I have some dummy rounds seated with the 156 @ 3.600". Not sure what freebore I will run yet. May play around in Quickdesign with it some more. Will ask reamer maker as well. Seems like .120" might be a good starting point.

I assumed this would need to be magazine fed. Wouldn't work through a BDL?
I have a lightweight 6.5 SAUM with Proof barrel, defiance deviant action. I took it to Alaska a couple of years ago for a sheep hunt. Never really fed that reliably. I'm considering doing a light week build with a titanium action, carbon fiber barrel, and was going to do a 6.5 PRC. I would like to shoot the 156s and I am considering a long action so that I'm not restricted with regards to OAL.

If you're going to do bdl bottom metal on a long action, use a longer case. The max cases feed poorly in bdl format(my 7 max does anyway), mediocre at best from a tuned cfe box. My 6.5 max is built built on a 3.4" Tikka action, using 3.42" mdt detachable mags in an xlr element magnesium chassis. Hells Canyon should have them done in a few weeks.

Tikka actions are really good to build the MAX versions off of because you can just switch out the bolt stop and magazine if you have a short action set up or just leave it as is if you have a long action set up. They feed fine then.
Rich, any updates on 6.5 headstamped brass?
And can we convert a 6.5 PRC to the Max chamber? Same bolt face? Short action ok or need XM? Sorry if I missed something that answered my questions already. Data is slow right now and takes too long to go back through the whole thread.
I'm having trouble finding a case drawing of the 6.5 Max to see if it'll work to ream out our PRC. Any helps on that?
