6.5 PRC Sherman Improved

70-180fps gains depending on bullet/powder combo.
My 22" is running a 140 Elite at a leisurely pace of 3101fps. This is 1.7gr below max w. RL23.
That's crazy fast for a 22in barrel. Sounds very close to 65 Saum speeds. Might have to give one a try on a 20in setup.

6.5PRC, 6.5PRC/SI, 6.5SS, 6.5SAUM

First rifle i ever purchased. Sako 85 in 260. Just got a huge makeover to 6.5 PRC/SI. lol the length i went through to get this done probably warranted selling the **** thing and starting over or doing a prefit build with some sort of adequately priced custom. None the less after opening up the bolt face through LRI, finding a small enough carbon where i wouldn't have to take so much stock material through ragged hole barrels, and then ordering an action wrench from Australia it's done lol. Pretty stoked. Hopefully the Wilson blank shoots well enough

What barrel length did you go with? Did you purchase the reamer or rent the reamer?

Got it put together. Looks like it's going to feed alright from the 85 308 mag. I've ran 7SS and 6.5 saum just to see if the case head presentation was adequate enough with the 308 mag. Was pretty worried cause i ordered a 300wsm mag for a sako 85 but its in SM which is technically longer than the S size sako 85 below. So i have a feeling that mag won't fit the bottom metal and I'll be sending it back to eurooptic. Otherwise stoked.

Turned out beautiful.
Thank you Lance, it's definitely a "one of a kind" i feel like lol. Have been wanting a classic walnut stock paired with a carbon barrel for some time though. It is a little wonky from the 308 mag. Case head presentation is fine, i really just need the feed lips to disengage earlier so the bolt face can grab the round before it angles up on the feed ramp. FWIW it's smoothing out so I'm just gonna run it lol. Hope to fireform the Norma tomorrow on new years day!

Another adventure taken with this rabbit hole is ragged hole barrels. I have a buddy that chambers his own guns and has used wilson blanks from John at ragged hole for some time. They're stupid cheap at like $200 a blank. This carbon wrapped #4 wilson was $550. As far as I know David at DST had no issues with it and was interested in how it performed. So will report back on how it shoots. It is easily the thinnest carbon profile I've seen. It's like a true to size #4.

Took it out today. Recoil wasn't too bad. 2750ish with 143gr norma but I'm pretty satisfied with the carbon wrapped Wilson from John at ragged hole barrels. Wasn't expecting much cause the Wilson blanks are like $224 for steel and $500ish for carbon. Ran out of elevation on the Viper HD as well can't remember if the pic rails i installed on the sako are 20 MOA but hell 5 Mils is enough for 700yds. It'll be more when i get 135s to 2900 or so. Anyhow I'm pretty over the moon with how it turned out.
