300 PRC SHERMAN IMPROVED

Ok, ordered reamer, brass and dies from Rich for the 30 Sherman Mag. Used a Terminus Kratos action and Bartlein 1-9 twist 31 inch blank. Told gunsmith to make longest barrel possible. Barrel is 29+ inches. Put in McMillian A5 with TT diamond trigger. Topped with Nightfore NX8 4-32. Load development was a breeze. Ended up with 230 grain Atip, 83.5 grains N570 at 3.800 OAL. At 100 shoots one ragged hole. My first two shots today at 625 yards were touching. Hit steel every shot at 875 and 1080 with no sighters. Love this gun/cartridge combo. At 1000 yards still doing 2059 fps with 2164 ft/lbs of energy with only 19.5 MOA drop- Less than one turret turn on my NX8. Thanks Rich for all your work on this caliber. Ordered some more brass tonight.

Excellent read, congratulation on your new 300 Sherman Magnum, any updates?
I'm not in this league of shooters, but I am interested in this topic. I'm currently building a 300 WM and have too many components to change that now, but if there's any other post after this one I will follow.
Finding powder has been challenging, but I did score some Berger 208gr LRHT & some H1000 from a new friend off this site.

Our 2 Sherman Magnums for King of 1 Mile, King of Tanks (up to 2,4km) and Magnum F-Class.
Tuned up the load today on 100m. 3 Shots 1 almost round hole with 230gr SMK and 84,4gr N570 with 1mm jump to the lands. But longer throats cutten by the gunsmith, not standard reamer throats lenght.

Couldn't test a lot yet on load development. Hope to get them properly set up for both King of 1 Mile in France 2023.

- One Bergara blueprinted action, one Ultimatum Deadline.
- 2 amazing Prototype Carbon stocks for PSE Composites based on E-Tac 4 stocks.
- 32,5" Krieger Barrels 1,25" straight contour 1:9 twist
- X-Out Precision Magnum Tuner Break (Germany)
- And since 2 weeks got March Genesis Scopes for these rifles

That looks very familiar with the SM and it should compete very well. That thing has long range hammer written all over it!
Here is a pic of mine shooting 245's at 3000 a couple days ago. I was just proofing a new powder lot.

Great! Unexpectedly I came across 4 boxes at Academy tonight at a price that wouldn't require taking out a 2nd Mortgage so I scooped them up thinking that would be the case.
