Hard sell on the Vortex here. Keep it as an option but do some research and look around.
I'm with you minus the razor 2s, they are good scopes. Only thing vortex I'll touch.

The razor series is not like there Chinese junkI'm with you minus the razor 2s, they are good scopes. Only thing vortex I'll touch.
I would say that has a lot to do with sponsorship as well. But PRS (as well as a 50BMG) don't care much about weight. 48oz is a boat anchor, but they are built like one too. I am just not impressed with the glass in them. It's top 3 in what PRS competition shooters use.
Yeah but for $1600 bucks they do %95 of what the $3000-$3500 scopes do.I would say that has a lot to do with sponsorship as well. But PRS (as well as a 50BMG) don't care much about weight. 48oz is a boat anchor, but they are built like one too. I am just not impressed with the glass in them.
No doubt about it.Yeah but for $1600 bucks they do %95 of what the $3000-$3500 scopes do.

I have 2 Trijicon scopes on smaller rifles and I love the brightness in their glass.Don't rule out a Trijicon Ten Mile 5-50x56. Excellent glass (L.O.W), built like the proverbial tank (38.4 oz weight) and loaded with all the features you'd expect from a LR purpose scope. They are, however, 1/8moa or .05 mrad adjustment scopes.

Yup, I can read as well and have seen that graph. Again, keep them as an option but do some research (research the facts that are important to you) and see what works for the OP. Im no supporter and won't push my preferred optic. Seems like a lot of pushing here. It's top 3 in what PRS competition shooters use.
He was just questioning if the scope was decent enough for his 50 bmg and it is. I'm not pushing, just didn't want him to discount it.Yup, I can read as well and have seen that graph. I had to wait 3 years for my 50 to be built, but it was a tack driver when it was done.. I really wanted a repeater so I sold it and I was really torn between a super nice used G.A Precision Surgeon 338 lapua or a Desert tech HtI in 375 Chey Tac. But since I'm one of the poors I didn't think I would be able to shoot the 375 cheytac as much as I wanted, so I went with the 338 lapua G.A precision rifle that had 300 rounds through it and so far love it.My Nightforce on the 338Lapua I sold worked well. Stepping up to a 50BMG is a lot more power and anyone that has shot one for awhile would know a lot more than I can read. This thread has the most experience with 50 bmg that I have seen. Thanks all for contribution, I'm waiting for my 50 to be built right now.
Heavy...scope is heavy? On a 50? Certainly would have an impact I'm guessing on those free hand shots! What's your use goal and what's your budget.. a good 3-9 would work fine, but if your wanting to dial your shots for long range then there are a ton of great ones anything from a vortex pst to a Tangent Theta, Schmidt & Bender and Zero compromise.
For a good budget scope, I liked my Gen 1 Razor hd that was on my 50 bmg, but for the little bit extra I really like my gen2 razor hd 4.5-27 that is on my new rifle... there just very heavy. Any way let us know your budget and what you want to do with the rifle.
