50 BMG Barrel life?

I guess I posted my questions on 50 BMG reloading yesterday in the wrong place, in "Reloading". I got no response so thought there were not many 50 bmg shooters here. I am a menber of FCSA

There's a few of us around, but with costs exploding (no pun), our numbers are dropping due to fewer younger shooters entering the realm and some of us olders retiring.

Thats a shame. I just got into it last year and I am 85. Plan on shooting for some time as I have close to 1000 rounds to dispose of and two 50 cal reloading presses.

As to costs, my 338LM ammo cost more than the 50BMG

That is what I was thinking. Some of the Weatherby ammo will cost much more than 50 cal stuff all day long. Heck I seen 338 lapua ammo cheaper than my 300 Rum ammo.
