I just got my ruger no1 back and have been testing loads for it. It's a 33xc with a 31.5" carbonfiber barrel. Right now shooting well with 300gr at 3250fps using us869. Very little recoil and the rifle weight is 11 pounds.

None at all

That's great speed considering 3250 fps with a 300 grain bullet is .338 Cheytac velocity. Got a buddy that runs his .338 Allen Mag with a mid load at that velocity, it's capable of about 200 more though.

Ya I had a 338 416rigby that had that problem. It's the brass. It's not designed for the pressure. Look at the history of the 388 lapua.

Nope. The stock is headed to the smith tomorrow, so hopefully not much longer. I think I got everything ready, still trying to find an ammo box though.
