338 builds (lapua/edge/or the like) lets see them.

First Wildcat on a Savage 110 Action, donor rifle was a 7mm Mag.
338 Edge, single shot
McGowen 28" 1:9 barrel, Light Varmint profile
MDT LSS-XL chassis, gen 1
Sharp Shooter Supply trigger
MBM 5 port brake
Magpul STR collapsible stock (now). Picture is with Luth-AR MBA stock.
Leupold VX7L 4-16x56 glass. Can't remember if they're Badger or Sphur rings.
~12.5 lbs as shown

Rifle would balance a heckuva lot better with a lighter profile barrel
Wouldn't put a magnum in a LSS chassis again.
Picture taken before I started shooting Left Handed.

338 RUM I put together off a Savage 116. Single feed and I can't eject a loaded round without pulling the bolt. But who wants to do that any way?

Savage extractors suck, plain and simple. I put a Sharp Shooter Supply extractor kit on three of my Savages, and they work much, much better, but I just won't build another rifle off a Savage action.

Interesting builds gentlemen! I had a ill fated 30" 7 Rem mag barrel 3 groove with a 1 in 7 twist that ate Bergers at round count 225 or so. It would shoot monos or bonded bullets but the high BC was lost. I decided to get it rebored to 338. Dan Pederson of Classic Rifle Works did the work.

I had a 338 RCM reamer and asked Dan to long throat it for 300 gr bullets based on my supplied dummy round.

Getting 2454 fps with a 300 gr Berger with 54.5 gr of RL-17. Can shoot ten shots and barrel barely gets warm. It is lots of fun to shoot. Weight of rifle is 13 lbs.

The action is an unlikely Interarms Mark X. Joel Russo was kind enough to work this this action and make me one of his stocks. Stock trigger breaks at 1 lb.

While I used it once on a coues whitetail and can report the bullet killed with little meat damage.

Also have a sporter in 338 RCM which weighs 7 1/2 lbs. Shoots 225 gr accubond @ 2775 from a 22" barrel. Alternative load is 300 gr Berger with an OAL of 3.050" to fit and feed from the SA Ruger's altered mag box velocity 2350 using 54 gr of RL-17. Stock is the long discontinued McMillan Ultralight. This is a fantastic rifle for hunting elk in the White mountains of Az.

Ordered a barrel yesterday. 29" krieger #17 contour running a Remington 700 LA. Going with a timney 510, stock is yet to be decided upon

The loaded round is just too long. But it'll get me through this season. Next year I'm gonna play with seating depth more and alleviate the problem

Defiance deviant action
28" proof 9.4 twist
Cip length mags
Jewell trigger
Manners carbon elite stock
Fat bastard break
(Thunderbeast 338 SR can in route and should be here by end of March)
Spuhr mount
Nightforce atacr 7x35 H59 reticle
What does it weigh? How is the recoil with a carbon barrel and fat bastard break?
