30 NOSLER OR 300 PRC

I agree with you that a 30 nos is awesome.
I went 300 NM personally, I shoot a lot and in the few weeks that I've had my NM i already put almost 200 rounds through it..

I'm beginning to wonder if burning 10 more grains of powder, enduring more muzzle blast and recoil, and suffering shorter barrel life is worth the 100 fps that I'm getting over a 300 PRC??
Nothing you shoot can feel the difference in velocity unless it's a questionable shot to begin with.

Sometimes a little more energy helps, usually it doesn't.

But you didn't answer my question. If the Nosler is so much better suited to factory rifles, why doesn't anyone chamber rifles for it?
Strictly because of length, Again how many factory actions could you build a PRC on and shoot factory ammo.
How many factory actions could you build a 30 Nosler on and shoot factory ammo all of them.
Why no factory chambering for the 30 Nosler that's a question for the factorys.

Im glad they are both available. I remember not that long ago wishing for a big 30 that would fit a wyatts box when throated properly, and didnt have a belt and didnt need a laupa boltface. Now theres 2 and both are excellent designs.

I ended up having a 300 PRC built. I wanted the Nosler at first. But after looking at all the pros and cons I went 300 PRC. A few factors weighed in. The biggest for me was limited time. I work 80-100 hours a week. I was/am hoping the factory will shoot well enough I can skip having to reload. It for sure does for regular hunting ranges. (I personally had more faith in Hornady factory ammo after seeing how well 6.5 CM and 6.5 PRC factory shot)

You have the 300 win that is slightly slower than the 300 prc, which is slightly slower than the 30 nos, which is slightly slower than the 300 rum, which is slightly slower than the 30-378, which is slightly slower....A shooter/hunter just has to decide what he/she values the most whether its component availability, cost, coal, component quality, velocity, etc. Hard to go wrong as long as you are enjoying shooting it. Its extremely hard to say one cartridge is the "best"

Probably due to the fact there's just not enough demand for rifles chambered in 30 Nosler. Nosler may also hold a patent on the cambering preventing it.

Still a factory rifle..
Now the 300 PRC is even available in the $1150 CA Mesa, it's gonna spread like wildfire.
RIP 300 WM :)
LOL factory rifles dont have custom barrels or carbon fiber stocks.

The Reason the Big Manufacturers won't produce 30 NoZz is Marketing. If they did produce it, it would cut into the profit of the other Cartridges they already sell. The only way they would produce it is if it took off like wildfire and cut into profits. That is the only way it's worthwhile to Tool up for it, Business is Business. 300PRC & 30 NoZz are BOTH too long for most Rifles for accuracy with the "Heavies" in stock form. If you seat the Bullets out past the Neck Ring you're looking at 3.65" OAL & a lotta Rifles can only shoot the 3.4" OAL. It's Why I'm playing with my 2.3"+ 300WSM, "300-SMX".
