I ordered 230s, I can do the test with them and try the left overs in my 300 RUM bench rifle.

I have no plans to purchase any 215s but if you are willing to send me 10 I will load and shoot them for validation.

I called PTG and asked them to email me their 30 Nosler reamer print. Fred, I'll send it to you if I get it. Also thanks for the QL file, it worked great.

Here is the print for the 30 Nosler that I got from PTG today, I was told that Nosler has had the 27, 28, 30, 33, and 35 approved by SAAMI. I don't know if this is true or not as it seems to take SAAMI forever to update anything they approve. If I have done my calcs right, you should be able to seat the Berger 230gr Hybrid Target about .010" off the lands, giving you a bullet seating depth of .675" and a COAL of 3.590" You should be able to push that bullet a around 3000 fps out of a 28" barrel using Retumbo. Which for me, my elevation is around 1350' where I can get out to a mile, the bullet should stay supersonic to a mile. This is based on using the 2.590" case length and 99gr case capacity of the 26 Nosler. In theory the 30 Nosler should have a little more case capacity. Maybe one of you guys smarter than me can tell me if my numbers look right.

That chamber is about .050" shorter than a 26 Nosler.

Good catch Edd, I didn't notice that. So why would PTG put this reamer out if you can't use the brass?

You can use the brass but you will have to size it correctly. I don't know who designed it or why.

I used the same go/no-go gauge for all the chambers. I can double check with Masnon 26-Nosler go/no-go as well. Did it with the 338/26-Nosler.

I'm pretty sure I can still use everything as it is, it's working on the 27.

It appears that the spec has been submitted by Nosler to PTG and to SAMMI and indeed the shoulder is .050 lower, the length is .034 shorter. The neck length comes out .003 shorter. Gonna have to do some measuring.

Darn it. Now is there going to be a big mess with different dimensions for each version? Old story of the 338RUM. Lawyers and marketers doing design work?

My 338 is just a necked up 26.
