Keep us posted brother, I want to see a critter posted up here!

I did what I've done before. A swing and a miss. 250yards leaning on a support and I put it high. Done it before fromnthis position. That's life.

About the same thing happened to me on a cow elk back in 2011, although from only about 75 yards. stalking through the forest and had to take a quick uphill shot leaning back with a stick as a rest, also put it high. And it was the first time I had used my 338-300wsm.

Overall it looks like the 33 Nosler is going to be a success... just think of what that cartridge would do with a 28" barrel if you're getting 3380 out of a 24".

This one is going 3280 1.5grns up from the starter load under a TTSX 185. Faster will not be a problem and add the 100fps for 4" longer.

What do you think it will push a 300gr at?
Around 2750 from a 26" barrel. COAL of 3.85. An Edge or Lapua will make the heavies go faster but require more magazine work or single feed to do it. In a Weatherby Mark V it just fits and feeds.

Sweet! Sounds like a great cartridge!

Hunts over. On ice and heading home.

250 or less yards, moving shot. High and back. Lost about a foot of back strap on the exit side. Immediate drop from the shock. So nervous wasted 3 rounds before realizing I needed to breath, drop the bipod legs and comply the process with one in the neck. That shot was as all of us would want.

Pics don't post from the phone so later today.

The reason for the bipod is to be a counter balance. I zeroed with it and I just could not hold the rifle down with out it. Don't have that problem on everything up to 300 Wby and never tried with any of the RUMs or Edge.

Lesson, shoot it as you zeroed it.

315# dressed.
