I got some RL-33 for this. Ran out of H-1000 anyway.Jfseaman,
I would like to see what you get with RL-33. It yielded much higher velocities than H-1000, Retumbo and US 869 in my 26" 7mm/375 Ruger with 168 Berger classic hunters.
More like 50fps but...Just curious, if the data collected is from a 24 inch barrel, what could it be with a 28 inch barrel? Could it be mabey 100-150 fps faster mabey? Thanks again Fred for your data. Good stuff here!

More like 50fps but...
This does not appear to be a fast barrel vs. the 27 which is an old rechambered 270 that seems extra fast. I would venture that a "fast" barrel would go another 50fps even at 24".
I wasn't planning in retaining a 27-Nosler. The plan is to sell this rifle when I'm done. However, I have acquired another 300 Wby so one of them could become a 27-Nosler with a quality barrel in 26"+. Only time will tell.
JFYI: I meant keeping a 28 not a 27.Thanks Fred. I have a 7mm mag with a 28" 1n9 twist Pac-Nor barrel. I'm pushing the 168 VLD's just a tick over 3100 fps, I'm gonna rechamber this one to a 28 nosler so I was just curious of the extra length vs gains. I also have some 175 SGK's an some 180 Bergers as well as some RL 33, so I'm also wondering what will do what with the 28 nosler. Many thanks again for your data!

lets see some pictures of this 28 nosler next to a 7 mag or 280AI. Would my 280AI mag fit the 28 nosler round?
Now that the 28-Nosler is SAMMI, none unless you/your smith specify tighter dimensions or neck/free bore lengths. What is the difference, if any, in the 28 Nosler and the 284/26 Nosler?
Page seven of American Rifleman. I guess that's official. That's all I know of, havnt heard anything else as far as a news release. Thanks Fred.
I've looked for drawings but it looks like it's a bit premature for those.
Has Nosler made an official announcement?
