Had to look up Alzada. Never heard of it. Looks like you could throw a rock and hit Wyoming. My son's mulie buck shot near Alzada, MT - after a 1:45 sit on his bed, the buck got up and a Berger OTM was sent 200 yards w/.308. Anchored where he stood.
Nothing small time about teaching the craft and 409 yards with a new hunter. Congrats, meat first always. We are filling our freezer this year. Pretty small time compared to some of these pictures. Grateful for the meat though.View attachment 313416My spike. He died because he watched me approach for 100 yards from 10 yards off the road. I drove passed him 150 yards or so and got out to open a gate. I loaded the gun and walked back and he was still standing there.

My daughters deer and my sons deer were shot about a week apart from the same knob. They died about 100 yards apart.
Edit: 2 sons still have tags. Might even get a big one yet.
Nice old buck! Finally caught up to this old guy the other day in Texas Hill Country. Two years ago he was bigger and I didn't even get a glimpse of him last year. You can tell from the teeth his age is off the charts. I figure he's over 8 for sure. Third pic is from two years ago.....Wish I could have shot him then.

Shot this buck this afternoon using a rifle my dad gave me when I was about 12. It was his main rifle until he gave it to me. I had it refinished about 7 years ago and gave it back on Father's Day to him. After he passed in March of 2020, my mom gave it back to me. I've been reluctant to hunt with it because of the sentimental value I have towards it. Remington 700 ADL 270

Filled my SD tag this weekend. He's not my biggest buck, but tall with lots of character. Suppressed .300WM with 180 Accubond anchored him at 237 yards. Full freezer and another great hunt in the books!
Just west of Wasta, north of Wicksville. Yep, he was running his herd of does hard. As it got light, I could see 4 separate groups of deer, mostly whitetail, and they were all chasing does. I was actually set up on a herd of whitetail with a shooter buck just out of sight in a draw, when this guy walked out of the same draw. Gotta love having options!Great character, where around were you? Just curious if we were in the same neighborhood. Nice buck. Great weather after Tuesday. They were rutting hard.
