6.5 PRC Sherman Improved

As far as I know, I think the reamer Travis @ TS Customs used is a .105" freebore. As for loading, just a simple neck down - I used a .269" bushing on Lapua brass. I think @Huntnful uses a .270"? For a wildcat, this one is about as simple as it gets. Check out this link to Huntnful's journey with it - he gives far more detail and some kills with it.

Thanks and yes, mine is from Travis and i have checked out the info you provided. I had one that was for the longer 115 DTACs, but it did pressure out and I wasnt happy with the velocity. very happy so far with my current set up, but would like it to be set up to shoot the 105-108's. Maybe next barrel.

Any new load data 6.5 prc/si and not the 6 prc
Here's probably the best reference:

I can add my personal build has been completed for about 9 months it's taken two antelope and have tried a couple different pills. This gun is a 20 inch 7.5 twist it's since changed scopes

I will more than likely play with 140 eldms this winter after elk season and 135 jlk's and possibly the 153 atips and 140 vld's.

61.5 grains of n560 and 135 atips 3148 fps
60 grains of n560 and 147 eldms both seated to 2.950 3015fps

Some great velocities for such a short build!

Yeah agreed with great velocity comes great pressure!
You're more than welcome to come shoot it. 5 firings on the brass pockets are still tight. It's also a hunting gun so yeah it's up there in pressure but I have no swipe or bolt lift.

I've had a few Sherman cases. I know how the geometry works. It's very effective at reducing bolt thrust and case stretch/growth. I do not doubt that visual psi signs are not visible. I'm just curios have you compared a fired prc si case capacity to a standard fired prc? I'm curious what the actual % increase is.

I'll have to dig through it more. I found a comparison of virgin brass to FF improved brass, but never saw a capacity of FF lapua 65prc.

So roughly 2.5-3% increase in velocity ceiling with the 4% capacity change? That's a much higher ratio than a lot of other improved designs. Solid results.........

70-180fps gains depending on bullet/powder combo.
My 22" is running a 140 Elite at a leisurely pace of 3101fps. This is 1.7gr below max w. RL23.
