6.5 PRC Sherman Improved

I probably should have stopped at .257, but didn't. It's Huntnful's fault LOL!

WOW!!! I really like this! Nice! 25 PRC Sherman Improved--never heard of that. Would you mind sharing some ballistics data regarding this round? Thanks very much!!
There are very few out there. So few, in fact, Rich had to get the reamer made for me. He didn't have any in stock. I think just two or three, after I did all the testing of the 6.5PRC/SI last year.

Once mine is built, I will post up testing results. I am expecting a 133 @ 3150-3200+ from my 22" barrel.

Nice! Looking forward to hearing those performance and data numbers. Those expected velocity numbers are great--especially for a 22" barrel. Thanks for sharing.

Has anyone tried like 110 or 118 hammer bullets in the prc/si to see what kind of velocities you can push it to?

It worked well and good accuracy with 109 hybrids. I just couldn't get it as accurate as I wanted. Below results were from new Lapua brass on about a 45-50 deg. day. It has pretty impressive ballistics to 1000yds. I think it would be ideal for many as a hunting cartridge, but it is a bit much for competition.

Thanks…anything special about the reamer? Or just a neck down ? Freebore.
I ask because my freebore is for 87-90g

As far as I know, I think the reamer Travis @ TS Customs used is a .105" freebore. As for loading, just a simple neck down - I used a .269" bushing on Lapua brass. I think @Huntnful uses a .270"? For a wildcat, this one is about as simple as it gets. Check out this link to Huntnful's journey with it - he gives far more detail and some kills with it.
