Any Model 70 love out there?

I have a pre 64 action done up by Brown Precision with a 24" #3 shilen barrel and a Brown Precision stock. Total weight with scope is about 8 1/2 lbs. 338 Win Mag. Very accurate rifle, but I've gone to much lighter rifles for hunting.

Here's my m70. A safari express that's been rechambered from 458 win mag to 450 Ackley.

I have a 1958 308 featherweight topped with a 2.2-9 Swaro that's my favorite white Tail rifle.
Also have a Model 70 Laredo Long Range Hunter in 7 STW that I use for what to me is long range (400 yds.)

I have a couple. A lightweight hunting rig built on a fn/crf action with a hart featherweight barrel in 280ai. It rides in a MPI carbon stock. The other is a early 90s push feed with a bartlein medium Palma in 6mm creedmore riding in a mdt lss chassis.

That's long-ish range for me too, much as I'd love to go further. The local range is in the process of expanding out to 880 yards though so that's welcome news

I have one, a ~1990 Model 70 in 300 WSM, a CRF, with a laminated stock, handed down by my Father. He won it in a drawing, ticket cost $10, so one of the cheaper Model 70s out there. A very nice rifle to shoot. Do Dakota 76s count ? Have two of them, one in 330 Dakota, one in 30-06. Beautiful guns. And a Model 97 in 300 Dakota, not a Model 70 clone, but a very fine CRF rifle that I think I like better than the 2 76s.

Have my dad's custom build pre-64 300 Wby. Killed a lot of my first critters with a pre-64 model 70 270win. I'm the 4th generation to hunt with it. My son will be the 5th. Great grandfather bought it brand new in the mid 40s.

Shot my Win 70 w/ Brux # 3 Barrel in 300 Winchester @ 100 yards today, the rifle shoots better than I do..... looks like I pulled one!!

Yep, I've got three of 'em. My first centerfire rifle, a Christmas present from my Dad in 1958, was a pre-war M760 in .30-06 with an upgraded Lyman 17A globe front sight and a Williams Foolproof receiver sight. I still own it and it has taken whitetails, black and brown bears, caribou, elk and pronghorn, all over the U.S and Alaska. We're old friends. I have two others: a 26" pre 64 .220 Swift, and a 24" pre 64 .257 Roberts. I'm 81 years old, I still shoot them at the range occasionally, and they still outshoot me every time.

I'm a dinosaur weirdo. My collection is all Pre-war models. I grew up hunting elk in southwest Montana, walking from daylight to dusk, often through heavy timber. The Pre-war "flag" safety is the only rifle that never rubbed the safety to fire position. Winchester redesigned the safety in post war models presumably to accommodate scopes. In one instance my post war safety moved to fire position, the bolt opened, and I lost my chambered round. I can't do those rigorous hikes now, so that's not an issue anymore. Hard to beat the craftsmanship of those old forged steel, hand honed, controlled feed actions. Youngs Gunsmithing recently completed my 6.5 RPM (new Weatherby caliber) with a Pre-war action and Canjar set trigger with his "block" design in a McMillan stock. I have 2 Dave Young custom built Pre-war Mod 70 rifles. Both are long range tack drivers. Dave is a Model 70 wizard.
