Any Model 70 love out there?

Model 70s are good rifles and pretty easy to work on. I bought mine new in 1992. Push feed Sporter. Never had an issue with it. Much better quality than some of the 700s I've had my hands on lately. Shame, they used to build 700s the right way.

I looked at a new model m70 feather weight at Cabela's in March this year. Was very disappointed in the fit and finish of the wood . Very plain no figure in it and barrel channel was off center. Was very disappointed especially at a 1,100 dollar price. If it's not shooting well I would do a bedding job on it. Desert Dog on YouTube has a very good video on bedding if you never done it before.

After reading through this thread. I'm a old school guy. I have a couple LRI stainless classic rifles that are my go to deer and elk rifles. A matching pair of 300wsm and 6.5cm.

Chad at Longriflesinc.com is a magician when it comes to Win rifles.

The 6.5cm has a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 and the 300wsm had a NS8 2.5-20. So I'd go either and be happy.

I also bought a Mousingfield action with a 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5CM, and 300wsm Barrels. I prefer the winchester.
