Well twas a few years ago looking to get a bou rifle for the oldest daughter (IMHO her 243 she shot her first bou with worked just fine). Naturally my chief financial planner/ supporter of all my hare brained ideas (the wife) was with me and she says hey look at this one (Bergara wilderness) in 6.5CM. I say okay why would that be a good choice. The response I got was "well the name sounds cool and we don't have one" 
. Fast forward to now after using said rifle myself and having shot bou with it. I have given up black coffee for vanilla Frappuccino mocha swirl latte with whipped topping, traded my beer and whisky for white claws and lastly sit when I pee.

I knew that there was many other 6.5 CM shooters just as I knew there were just as many hater's.
I enjoy my 6.5 and like most of the other 6.5 owners that came forward, we really don't care about the hater's.
One thing I have noticed is none of the hater's have actually given a reason that they hate other than the stereotype answers.
I'm just glad everyone is having fun with it no matter which side you're on.

Oh, I don't think real shooters and hunters "hate" the 6.5CM, for we just think there are better options for our chosen sport. As I stated earlier, I own a 260 and 260AI, so its not the caliber per se'. Its just that the 6.5CM doesn't compare to some other 6.5's in speed and energy. Nor to many other calibers and cartridges when comparing apples to apples.
The 6.5CM is an "entry level" option......No offense

Hi. My name is "Larry" and I am sissy rifle owner. It's been about 5 years since I bought my 6.5 CM. I admit I drank the CM Kool-Aid for the thrill of a never miss, laser-guided, flat-shooting rifle that dropped dinos in their tracks from a quarter mile away without having to learn any dope! Just the thought of having so much power in my hands.... I craved it! and pretty soon I had to have it! I had to know what it was like! And once I held it in my hands... oh it was SO good! But then my neighbors started to take notice. I could hear their whispering behind my back. Somehow, I felt less manly. I had to hide my shame in the back of my gun safe... Until now. All of you here at COA (Creed Owners Anonymous) have given me the courage and confidence to once again proudly display my 6.5 CM under a couple old feed sacks beneath the back seat of my truck. I might even stop ordering ammo online under the wife;s name but I don't want to do anything too rash just yet...That's right, I birddog 68 shoot a sissy rifle. Not just any sissy rifle but a 6.5 creedmoor, the queen of sissies.
Some are afraid to mention that they shoot a skinny jeans man bun latte drinking rifle for fear that they will be ridiculed by their former friends. Not I.
I was looking for a rifle that would basically be a range rifle and was a little easier on my torn rotator cuff but wanted a bit more power than my 223 Remington. I wanted readily available brass and bullets and something that I wouldn't have to buy any powder that wasn't on my shelf already. The 6.5 CM checked all the boxes.
I ended up buying a Browning Xbolt western hunter last spring with a 24" barrel and yea it's even got a brake on it!
It's actually been boring working up loads for since it's shot everything good that I have tried so far.
I'm shooting 140 ELDM and 140 ballistic tip and have used IMR 4350, Ramshot hunter,W760 and staball 6.5 and it doesn't care what I fill the case with. It just shoots!
I'd like to hear what brought others to buy such a sissy rifle ?

Seriously, though... I hunted for years with a .22/20ga O/U my father had bought for me as teenager and I never owned a hunting rifle. I wanted to try extending my hunting range beyond what I felt was within the limits of a 20ga shotgun. I did a little homework and decided to give the 6.5 CM a try before going to bigger 30 cal set up. Figured it would be a little easier to start with a light recoiling rifle as well. I ended buying cheap 783 Remington and put a Burris Fullfield E1 scope on it and was shooting sub-MOA with factory ammo right out of the box. Took a big doe with it the first time out at about 70 yds using Hornady WT 129gr and she managed to get about 30 yds before dropping. Everything I have shot since has been DRT. Loaned the rifle to the neighbor's teenage son and he pulled off a trifecta, taking 2 small yearlings and their momma in under a half a minute. We did have to track the momma into a thick thicket and had trouble finding her but we did not far from where she had been shot. His girlfriend took a 12pt buck with it a few days later and we gave him a good natured ribbing about it. Anyway, my point is the 6.5 is more than capable for the conditions we hunt in here in Ky and I'd feel comfortable using it out to 400-500yd for hunting. I have used it to target shoot out to 650 and it's pretty easy. I'd still prefer something bigger for Elk but that would be a personal preference. All in all it's a great caliber for beginners and definitely has a niche in the longer-range target shooting arena. It'll be the rifle I pick if I ever try to join the 1000 yd club. For now though, I'm holding on to it in hopes to introduce one of my grandsons to hunting.
Several years ago decided to see what all the fuss was about. Caught a Cabelas black friday sale and paid $200 after savage rebate and cabelas card discount for a model 12 fv 26" varmint. Did a quick break in and put 3 Hornady American Whitetail in dang near one hole. Went out that afternoon and shot a buck with it. During load development with the 140 eld it put 8 rounds over 2 grains in powder in less than an inch. With Reloader 26 it will send a 140 2900 ish. With H4350 it's about 2800 ish but insanely accurate. It sits in the safe now except for range practice. It's heavy and I am more a 7mm guy but you can't deny the rounds inherent accuracy.

In a 6.5CM, that is a setup for trans-Atlantic flight.
Mostly out of a 10.5" Encore barrel that I got during a Stub Sale from MGM. I wish they still did those!
I also have a 14" Contender barrel and 3 years ago I built a 18" barreled Remage 700.
The only rifle I have killed more stuff with is my old Browning A-bolt in 7-08.
Speaking of the man bun, my chopped and threaded T3X killed three WV does this morning.

I agree with you that there's faster and better 6.5 options out there. I just figured this time I would just hit the easy button. And the button actually worked!
