Who's successfuly using imr 8133?

Mmmmm just saw my first jug in the wild. Cabela's had 4 on the shelf. I grabbed one. Might be happy I didn't pick them all up. I'm hoping it will replace vv570.

I'm trying it in my 338 terminator. Got the rounds loaded up, just waiting for the weather to break. One thing I've noticed is it meters incredibly well, very consistent, and I noticed how 8133 takes up significantly more room in the case compared to the same weight of RE33.

Just tried it in my 338 edge and 300
Norma improved today. Looks like an accurate powder for me. It's similar burn rate to N570 as far as charge is concerned. But it's not a top velocity contender like RL 33 and N570. I did run it up to 98.5 grains in my edge today and didn't hit pressure and had to use a drop tube at 98 and 98.5. 98.5 was 2930 in a 28" barrel. Same wide node around 2810-2830. This was over a whole grain of powder. I could load 95-95.5 and run the same speed as 92.5 H1000.

I used a drop tube and a sonicare toothbrush trying to get it settled down. Neither seemed to help a ton, this powder takes up a lot of room

Shoots well for me. I like it.

any results on your 300 Norma improved?

In my Norma Improved it's looking like it will be accurate but I hit pressure with a 215 Berger in Lapua brass at 3152 fps (93 grains.) VV N565 showed less pressure at 3240 fps. However the velocity flat spot with 8133 was at 3100, and at 3140 for 565, so in that regard they aren't far off. I have more loaded up but need some time to shoot for groups and ES. If it looks good I'll roll with it unless I can hijack the N565/570 truck if it ever rolls into town.

let me know when and I'll help! Was hoping to reach 3200 with my future setup when it's done, although like chasing groups on paper we get caught up chasing 50fps when in most cases it will perform to our standards.

There seems to be a node across a few powders around 3125. My experience is in order to get the 100 FPS faster node you will need N570. A 215 Berger going 3125 is plenty fast for me

Good to know! I have a little over 2lbs if some old n570 I'm hoping will get me by until more is available. Fingers crossed!
