Imr 8133 load data

Be careful on starting loads. I got hangfires and high pressure with book starting loads and 8133 in my 28. As charges rose it behaved really well. I am going to try it in my RUM when I run out of Retumbo. I really like it.

For another example, I am loading 78 gr. 8133 behind a 180 Berger VLD in .300 PRC with no noticed pressure signs.

Here is a link to 8133 on Hornady website:

You can scroll down to where cartridge and bullet weight are selected - would not let me create a direct link.

For some reason, the site is kinda flaky from my phone and I could not choose just any particular bullet with that cartridge, but was able to find data for 180 & 220 gr. in 300 RUM here.

that'd be seriously low power your 300 prc...I'm loading 79 compressed behind a 225 grain eld in my 300 win mag. Must be burning filthy!

It's about mid-level by the book and shot good groups - old school here. If all goes well, a friend is going to provide a chrono and we'll get some ladders done for 8133 and RL26 tomorrow.

Thanks for the great intel. How do you find the recoil on the 300 PRC?? I am considering a build for LRPS but do want a long barrel life and recoil that be managed over 30-50 rounds per day
It's not as bad as I thought it might be. But I do have a fairly heavy rifle and brake on it. Compared to a Benelli SBE with full bore 3 1/2" shells - it is gentle.

Okay, here are .300 PRC speeds w/ 220gr Hornady ELD-X seated .020 off 3.615 OAL
via a MagnetoSpeed - this photo shown is IMR 8133 data. All was good right to book max. 79.0gr - very faint ejector marks at max.

Here's nine-shot to max. load by book w/ RL26. No pressure signs at max with RL26. Below are a couple of groups with 205 Berger Elite Hunter - showing promise .020" off. Going to play with jump a little more.

I would like to load a 180 in my 308 norma but can't find load data for 8133 . I have tried the 30-338 data but nothing for the 180 just bigger bullets. Any help would be appreciated
