If you tell us your general area, it'll help narrow down the recommendations.
Most of the reputable gunsmiths all charge, relatively, about the same.
There's a certain amount of part time, semi retired, hobbyist, smiths out there and, depending on what you all want done, I'm sure some of those can do a good job for you and maybe even at a reduced price. My concern would be any of them that offer bargain prices, could very well be doing bargain level work, so for me, it's just not worth taking the chance to save a few bucks.

I had a smith in Southern Idaho(Boise area) that did work for me for years but he has since passed and he did good work. I was hoping to find something like that up here but have not yet found that.
I don't need Cheap just not going to put 1k into an $800 gun. I guess I should have elaborated a bit better in the original post.
As I am looking it seems all the prices are close to the same, now to find the barrel.

I've only purchased one barrel from McGowen but it was better than I could have hoped for from any custom smith and their customer service is outstanding.

Contact Douglas Premium Barrels , at douglasbarrels.net .
I have had them re-barrel 2 rifles for me with their XX-PREMIUM stainless steel barrels , and both have been very accurate , moderately priced ( $500 -550.00 ) , and turn-around time was 6 weeks .
My first rifle sent to them was a Ruger M77V , tang safety , in .220 Swift . They replaced the original barrel with XX-PREMIUM SS , in .220 Swift with 1:8" twist , 26" length , and turned the barrel to an exact contour matching the original factory barrel , and satin (bead-blast) finish.
2nd rifle was a Weatherby Mark V in .340 WBY. Magnum , XX-PREMIUM SS , with factory free-bore , in a contour that was Douglas contour , 26" length , ending at .750" at the muzzle , to which they installed , and timed , my Holland muzzle brake , and satin finished the new barrel and brake .
They do not blueprint the actions , but , you were talking about inexpensive prices , and both of my rifles shot very well .
.220 Swift less than .5 moa consistently .
.340 Wby. averaged .6 -.7moa .
These rifles were done 10 and 8 years ago , respectively .
Just an option for consideration .

How did the phone call go with LRI? For inexpensive, another thing you could do is look for a factory "take off" barrel in 300WM. Any good smith can blueprint and set it up for you. Look on Ebay or Gunbroker. Good luck to you.
I have a Rock Creek cut rifled 30 cal barrel, 1:10 twist, in Rem Mag contour if that interests you. Win 70 Featherweight barrels in magnum chamberings have a magnum contour, not a Featherweight contour, so the Rem Mag contour should be close.
