Local shop has been receiving trophies from an old African PH who has no more space since moving to USA.

Maybe one. Gives me more options to look around. Not gonna spend a lot of money on it and gonna be a while. Need to look into state reg and ask directly before committing to buy one.
In CA, a cougar mount needs proof it was made on june 6, 1990 or older. There is permit application process and needs to be inspected by a department staff.

I know a guy that just sold his collection, same deal. Worthy of a museum. It filled a 2000 sqrft basement and guest house. He got 30k with two rifles. Full mount lions, leopards, buffalo's, you don't get even close to what's invested in it.

I've got a beautiful bull moose, a buffalo and an extraordinary red stag. They were all displayed in my office, along with bears, deer, birds, etc, until I retired. I live in a modest size home and the big stuff doesn't fit. I'd like to sell them but shipping would be a challenge.

Jackalopes are cool and make great conversation pieces around kids...
Those who have no clue I explain how I ran over it in Idaho and had it mounted while I waited for a new tire. lol

You might be onto something here.....a heck of a time, excerise and money saver! I never thought about HUNTING at a Taxidermy Shop......no tags necessary, no wait time,no draws! ( no fun)!

Using your search engine of choice type in "taxidermy for sale." Myriad outfits such as Safari Works sell all maner of mounts.
Caught this pair playing around in the sagebrush while antelope hunting Wyoming years ago. This is what happens when you get distracted by the other sex.
