Maybe, but I wouldn't trust it to be anything but wind sensative past 100 yards. 223 isn't ideal either.
Still a usefull rifle up to 150-200 yards. Past that I want more. Past 400, I use my 6mm AI
of it REG
Sonny Boy, you have to get out and learn to shoot and doping the wind is all part of the game REGAURDLESS of caliber shot.
The 6 AI is a good round but the wind will still push that little pill side ways no matter what the articles tell you!
Like I said the .17Rem is a very useful coyote caliber and will kill past 300 yards reliably.
You will never learn to shoot properly while exchanging horse power for marksmanship!
Wild cat and custom rifles all have their place after you learn to shoot at long range and doping the wind is all part of it.
Keep working on it and you may impress some one else.
By tHe way if you can not shoot a .223 out to 400 yards then why would you have a 6AI ?
Seems like a waste of good powder and lead but it's your dollar.
Look I am not poking fun of you but I have spent to many years behind a gun counter and as a commercial ammo loader and have heard a truck load of all kinds of stuff.
Put fun back in shooting and try a .22 hornet and learn to dope wind then try a .17 Rem and you maybe surprised at what you thought you knew. It is like learning to drive start with a stick then you can drive about anything, start with an automatic then try and drive a stick, now you are stuck. Same thing with putting down the magazines and start burning powder.
You may surprise your self at how quick you can shoot with the wind.
I am not sure what part of the country you live but if you can find some public land, take your 6 AI or if you have a .223 and start bustin caps. You will learn a lot plus have a ball!
Good luck to you in your future of shooting!
gun)Shoot em where they live and have a sharp knife!
