Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

My worthless $.02...

I don't like the CM cartridges. Never owned one, but dislike how much they are marketed.

I'm sticking with my 30-378, 130 grain hammer laser beam rifle. With a 4 port brake, it kicks less than my several 300 WM's. When I shoot the barrel out, I'm putting on a faster twist. This stuff is so much fun, I can't believe it isn't illegal.
Yes! Tell us more about the load!

1960's vintage Ted Williams .270 on an FN commercial 98 action. Proof is in the pudding so to speak....pig at 225yds, coyote on the run at 150yds, axis at 125yds. 130gr TSX at about 3200fps. All these were from this last week. I can remember when grandpa sold his 300 savage and got his first 270. An old pump Remington. We thought it was a Buck Rogers laser! There will always be one in my safe. JMO

Each young man or woman are brought up around family or freinds that had certian caliber rifles think about a young boy in the 1800"s wanting to be able to own a sharps that few could afford so they bought what they could and then passed down there beleif and rifles to the next generation and so on. Each new family would take pride in the rifles they receive and in each new generation new rifles and caliubers were made for new generations to choose from and so on. Every hunter make a choice and then takes pride in it. I didnt like 6.5 creedmoor for years but the right price on one was low enought so I bought a ruger american preditor 6.5 creedmoor sighted in at 100 yards and it shot multibal 3 group shots you could cover with a dime. as a ethical hunter I always pick what im hunting and choose a caliber to go with that hunt and the distantce for a clean kill. I will not Judge any man choice of rifle or the fact he take extreame pride in it . whhen he or she brags about it I just smile as they should when I do.
I almost always thought one should Never look Down at a Man who ones just One gun! He may just be Very Good with it!
300 WM

Agreed but 6mm and 6.5 are SA calibers (assuming you're referring to the CM) and the .270win is a LA. So not really a an apples to apples comparison unless you're comparing to maybe a 264WM. I think that 270 would probably take back off if rifles builders started building them with the tighter twist rates required and ammunition manufacturers started putting out match grade quality ammunition using those higher BC bullets and kept the shelves stocked with said ammo.
I agree with you completely. I was just commenting on the practicalities of dealing with a time of component shortages. In my youth I have shot several Deer with the 270Win and was impressed by how little felt recoil I experienced, similar to the 243.

Perfect shot on that friggin coyote, always my shot placement on um. Dirty SOB's..... I hate um!!!

One thing the Creedmoor has going for it like it or not, is it brought a ton of shooters into the long range game. They were lied to technically, in that they would be the star of the show with this new cartridge. It's so good you wouldnt even have to practice. You could show up at a match and win, heck you wouldnt even have to zero your rifle. Point and shoot, hit the steel and step up on the podium. Honestly I'm grateful for it. We have a huge following in banging steel, new ranges, new shooters, enhanced sales of stocks, chassis, new powders, optics. Na, I think the Creedmoor hype fueled a lot of it. It's all good news to me.
