Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

The 308 Winchester is for little girly-men who can't handle the myth, the legend, the BACK TO BACK, UNDEFEATED, 2-0 FOR ALL ETERNITY WORLD WAR CHAMPION 30-06 Springfield.

I will die on this hill, M1 Garand in hand, laughing because as long as I can keep the little 308 boys at least 700 yards away the magic anti-308 force field will protect me.

If a genie told me the trade off for making the 308 Win disappear from the world would be having to shove a 6.5 Creedmoor up my own arse every morning I would make that sacrifice for the sake of humanity. I would ask for one caveat of being able to shoot lightning bolts out of said arse, because isn't a 6.5 CM basically a lightning bolt?

I don't hate any, I am just more of a "classic cartridge" type. I only have one 21st century cartridge, a 300 Blackout I bought for supressed fun. I usually give a new cartridge about 20 years to mature, before I might jump on the wagon.
I had a Blackout built in the 1990s' when it was a Whisper. Killed a g-hog @ 235 yards offhand. Best shot I ever made.

I have no issue with the 300 whisper for what it was designed for (subsonics in a contender) it's a pretty anemic round even with supers but I have issue with the 300 blackout as it was just pure plagiarism by AAC and performance claims have been way overstated.

All this talk of Creedmoor fan boys when the 308 Winnie Women are the original Cult of Can't Hack It.

The 300 Win Mag has that stupid belt and even they laugh at the little short action weenies and their 0.005 seconds of time saved cycling their actions as they send another 168gn Sierra HPBT on the way to getting swatted from the sky at 700 yards.

30-06. Heard so many kids when I was growing up and even now that had to get a 30-06 to hunt deer just like their dad. It's like you have to have a 30-06 to be a man. Saw fathers give their young son a 30-06 at the range and after they shot it, they didn't want to shoot anymore.
Also all the Creedmoors. Hornady just copied all past good cartridges.

Love too many cartridges to list.
Come on now…The 30-06 is like Apple Pie and baseball, and muscle cars. They are part of the American fabric. I'm was so close to saying that we can't be friends, thankfully you brought up the Creedmoors particularly the 6.5 which I detest for no real reason but I do. 😂

Dang I want to comment but I have just about every cartridge named so far and I like many of them, love a few. I guess if I had to name my least favorite or most over rated I have to say 6.5x300 Weatherby.

Here's hoping that can be maintained.

North of the border id like to think that this is still "the true North strong and free" 🇨🇦 and I do believe in that. But our current administration seems hellbent on creating a nation that is neither strong nor free.

I know you Americans are feeling this too. Doesn't matter what side of the border we on, it seems if you want to be responsible for yourself and be free to build your own life and live it as you see fit you're in for tremendous resistance nowadays. Liberal governments never mind their business and both our nations are suffering under such.
Very true, Calvin, and partly thanks to the Revolutionary War WE have a 2ND Amendment to our Constitution. I wish you did, too.

Quite a few of the "hated" cartridges here are ones we use frequently. We have a 6.5 creed; it's been a good paper puncher and has taken a couple of deer for us.
The 270 shoots fine too. I've got exactly 1 shot in the field with a 270 and I took a mule deer with it. Heck, it wasn't even my rifle. My brother handed me his rifle while he was dressing a deer. My rifle was on my back between my shoulders and a doe popped out. I simply asked if there were rounds in the rifle (he said yes), lapped one in the m70, and settled in dropping the deer with a shot.
The 7rem is a bit of a dog, but we've used it off and on and it fights just about at its pay grade. A 140 at 3K to 3200 fps is a good mid range deer load.
The 30-06 is a chambering I'll probably always own one rifle in. I shot my first buck with one, and I've hunted, target shot, and varmint hunted with one. All with a 165 doing 2800-2900 fps depending on the barrel.
The 7-08 and 308... Well, these are a bit lethargic in rifles, but they make splendid pistol cartridges for a Striker. I've shot groups with these pistols over the years that would make a lot of rifles envious. My Pops had a 308 that would stack sub bullet diameter groups all day long. My kid dropped his deer with a 7-08 Striker this year.

I'm not really a fan of any of the AI chamberings. The only reason they make any real difference is they are overloaded because the reduced bolt thrust fools people into thinking they are loading milder than they really are.

Hate... 6.5 Grendel. It's anemic in the velocity department with the 120-130gr bullets. I got 2 of them one in an AR and one in a bolt action. When I run out of bullets I think im done with the 6.5 Grendel. 6arc seems a little better.

Love..... 25-06 and 25-06AI. It's just flat shooting and knocks the snot out of hogs with 115vld's.
