Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

Anything run.....it's not so much the cartridge.....more of the owners. I put them in the same category as the cm boys.

The needsmore. What a NOTHINGBURGER! Won't do a damned thing my .260 Rem. won't do.

Ballistic twins. Just very little factory support for the 260.

The 260 Remington is my other rifle, so I too would like to see this load available. A great cartridge that is another Remington marketing failure. I think Federal had stopped loading it before they acquired Remington ammo. There has to be enough sales volume to support manufacturing runs. So we will see what happens. I would stock up on brass now...

I really don't get what Remington's problem is but man they've managed to take cartridges with potential and found a way to make them fail haha.

The 260 rem you mention. No support really once they created it. Might as well have called it the ".260 afterthought"

The 7mm rem mag I mentioned earlier

The 280…or is the 7mm express? Let's take what could easily replace the .270 but put it in semi autos and pumps first.

The 6mm Remington…what the .243 hopes to be when it grows up, nice long neck, sharp shoulder…oh well, let's market and twist it as a pure one purpose varmint cartridge…

You probably wouldn't notice if shooting an elephant or Cape buffalo, etc. but I imagine shooting at the range a few times is more than enough. I still have one each of the cases the gentleman let me keep. He was a fairly small guy too !

I concur……standing, shooting offhand, especially when motivated by a large, potentially game animal reduces felt recoil!

As for the small framed guy…..I've had a theory about that for many years! I firmly believe that a small guy is less affected by recoil than a heavier, large framed shooter.

The theory explained! The lighter shooter will begin to move with recoil quicker and farther with the recoil, than will the heavier shooter moving more slowly thereby absorbing "more" recoil!

I have used the 338 WM extensively and it does kick differently than a 375 H&H but that is a simple matter of physics. Recoil FT-LBS, gun weight, and stock design all contribute to perceived recoil. I once had a light weight .270 I could not stand shooting. My friend loved it and quickly became the next owner. Shooting big guns is like dancing; you have to practice well, to be good at it.

If you bring that .375 H&H weight down to equal the weight of the .338…..I suspect that the recoil impulse might be a tad quicker!

I know that the wife's 9.0 lb. 338 snaps back pretty sporty, and she's pretty comfortable with that……she wants nothing to do with my 9.0 lb. .375 AI. Even when I call her a sissy…..she refuses to shoot it! It will address you with both recoil impulse and ft/lbs recoil! But the end rewards are worth every assault! memtb

I don't hate any cartridge so I probably shouldn't post but it's that time of the day that I don't really give a rats behind. I own a couple Creeds. Killed a doe whitetail with one last Dec.. Hadn't shot it since 2018. Shot 3 doe whitetail and 2 doe lope with it then. It has its place. I'd never use it on elk. Just me. I'm hesitant to use even 6.5 PRC I have on elk because of unknown yardage. I'd rather have my 300 RUM , 300 WM or even 7 Rem mag. (Yes 7 Rem mag you haters. Killed plenty elk deer and lope with it. DRT for me. Shot placement is king ). If I had to pick one cartridge I've never had, needed , used or wanted I guess it'd be a Win. 270. Sorry Jack O'Conner.... And Muddy

Tis the Remington way. Their leadership is why these rounds failed and also why they went bankrupt.

The .300 short mag. I'm not sure why I dislike it so much. I even killed my first deer with a savage bolt action .300 wsm when I was 12.
